The place has really nice servers. The food was good. Didn't expect anything great from bar food. Although the salad looked a lot meaner than the burger! Drinks weren't bad but they weren't great either. I think it seemed like one of the only places to go in Orting on a Friday night because the crowd it started drawing in was so varied. Karaoke on a Friday was fun. Didn't know if I'd find a reason to come back unless I lived here other than the nice staff.
It was a meeting place for a few of us to gather and eat. I think we all liked the food, we got there before anything really got going, so that worked for us. As we were leaving, it started to get pretty busy.
I don't love - nor hate - the Spar Pole. It's just an alright hole-in-the-wall which I believe is the goal for the owners.However, I would love to see it turn into a true sports bar. They have the space and the foundation. Add more bar stools and high tops; upgrade from rock-hard bar stools to decently comfortable units; there are a few small tvs with glaring bright spots, and a projection screen that is clearly burnt out.Upgrade those tv's and projector.
