Cookie I got was incredibly dry, and in all honesty my dirty chai tasted like dirt. I liked this place but this honestly ruined it for me. Waste of $10. :/

solid little bakery/cafe downtown. we've tried their cinnamon rolls/pecan rolls, brioche filled buns, coffee, and tarts. the pecan tart is lovely and chocolate tart divine! looking forward to trying their other pastry options. It's hard to run any business these days, so kuddos to your hard work guys!

Charming coffee shop and bakery. The bakery case was full of amazing looking sandwiches and desserts. They have several GF options. The GF brownie is to die for. I wish I could find one in TX like this one!!
Dietary restrictions: Several GF options for dessert!

The iced mocha is the best I've ever had. Sooo goood!
Panini sandwiches are tasty. And there are so many desserts of all kinds. Cheesecake, bread pudding, cookies, cake, etc.

We haven't been to Carter & Co in a few years, but we decided to pop-in on a recent trip downtown. As with our last visit, we were a bit underwhelmed. The ham and Swiss stuffed brioche we chose was decent, though the bread to filling ratio was not quite right. And the key lime tart we purchased (based on a staff's recommendation) had a bit of a strange texture and flavor profile. The cookie we ordered was quite tasty, so that was a highlight.
This was the first time we opted to sit inside the establishment to eat our treats, and we found the interior a bit dark and drab, definitely in desperate need of some refreshing (as with most businesses in the downtown corridor).
We really want to like this spot, as it is obvious the owner is very passionate about his business, but we've yet to be wowed. Maybe next time?

Finally, we've found a place with vegan options in the local area! I am so thrilled. We had the delicious chai latte with oat milk, a Morning Glory Vegan Muffin (leaving one left), and a Pineapple Orange Guava (POG) sorbet ice cream cone. We hope they have the opportunity to add or rotate vegan options because the paninis look delicious but there aren't any that are fully plant based. It's so great to not have to travel to Seattle for a nice vegan bite. The atmosphere is quaint and inviting. We hope to become regulars.

This was a cute little downtown dessert shop. We got a float, sundae, and a big scoop of the brickleberry. We even got a white chocolate cheesecake to take home. Everything was so good and you can tell it's made in house. The gentleman behind the counter was very kind and patient while we made our decisions. Would go again!

Tried a few cookies and a kids scoop of peppermint ice cream. Not great. We tried a snickerdoodle, peanut cookie within a chocolate cookie, and an original chocolate chip cookie. When I bit into these cookies I thought that maybe I accidentally grabbed vegan cookies, they had so very little flavor (not saying all vegan food is tasteless)...all 3 of them tasted this way. But I checked the ingredients, they had all the normal makings of a regular cookie. In the chocolate-peanut cookie I kept getting bitter flavors like they didn't mix the dry ingredients enough. And the cookies all seem to be very heavy handed in the flour dept. I'm hoping that this was a fluke, but 3 different cookies all flavorless...wasn't our favorite place.

Wish they would trim their cake before frosting and learn how to melt sugar properly.
Cinnamon Bacon Maple rolls are like biting into sugar raw. Most of the cake isn't edible, the edges are left on and the chocolate ganache is so bitter I spit it out, it was like eating pure cocoa powder. The butter cream also has a " fridge taste" to it, it needs to be properly covered. Extremely unpleasant.
Atmosphere is very small townish/cute but could use a dusting.
