Everything was perfect for our 40th anniversary dinner. My husband had his favorites escargot and filet mignon. I had the angel hair pasta and garlic shrimp, which was excellent. Rhonda, our server, was outstanding. They were so busy and yet you didn't feel neglected at all. This is our favorite restaurant!

We sat in the piano bar which was lovely. They were short staffed, and we appreciate the sign, so we knew to be patient. Cocktails were delicious as was the dinner.

We ate early on a summer night so it was quiet which we enjoyed. The piano from the adjoining bar was just the right touch. Table service was excellent and food was delicious. It made our special birthday dinner out just that much more special to be at Alchemy.

Overall it was lovely but the food was a little hit and miss for us. My steak was amazing but the potatoes were grainy. My husband loved his meal but both desserts were freezer burned. At those prices I would expect a bit more consistency in the food. We'd probably give it another try, but it won't be top of our list next time we're in town.

Very rich, food ok... felt we were being rushed out of the door even though we spent $140!

Alchemy Bistro & Wine Bar was recommended to us for our 34th anniversary. This was the perfect place for our celebration. The food was fantastic!

We had a nice meal. They were a bit under staffed which hurt the experience a bit. Steaks were great. Just was a bit underwhelmed by the vibe.

We had a light dinner consistenting ofa bottle of wine and shared small plates.

They have a very respectable wine list. The Kumamoto oysters were fresh and tasty. The wedge salad was fabulous and the warm brie board was top notch.

Love this place, great service and food. Slightly tucked away for PT but well worth the visit. Highly recommend.

Wow I don't even know where to start. First when walking in this restaurant was the most aesthetically pleasing place ive ever seen. Perfect for instagram. There were even two little stuffed bears that were super cute. Despite coming in at a late hour with a large group of 8, the staff was extremely polite and welcoming. We had the chance of meeting the owner, she was so sweet and kind. Service was top notch and the food was also excellent. Usually when a restaurant passes out bread its cold and stale, however Alchemy exceeded my expectations, the bread was soft and had hints of sweetness and the butter smooth + not heavy. I would recommend the Angel Hair pasta and Lamb Bourguignon as they were delicious. I would refer this place for anyone who decides to visit the town of Port Townsend. Best atmosphere ever!

We made reservations but the restaraunt was not that busy on a Saturday night at 7 pm. The food was very good and decent portions. Service was perfect. All of the staff were friendly, polite and professional. Recommendations from our server were spot on. I will eat here again next time I'm in town.

Delightful service!!!! The food was great, Onion Soup is terrific. 7 of us came for the Salish 3 course meal. It could not have been nicer. Best food I've had in Port Townsend!

Great service, delightful ambience; soft music and lighting. However, we believe the chef must have taken the night off as the food was very uninspired.

I'm gonna be fare and start off honestly, the food was good.
Made reservations earlier in the week, called day before arrival to confirm. Showed up and no reservation? Hmmm. It's ok, they got us a table. When I saw the sign posted at hostess station saying short staffed on a holiday, and our missing reservation I was like ehhh, maybe we should go? But we'd driven so far for this Valentine's Day dinner, decided to stick it out. It was chaotic to say the least. Fortunately my husband and I both are patient people with good sense of humors and we're able to turn the night into a good time regardless. But here's how our night went:
6pm reservation. Sat at table. Bussers bring us menus. Bussers are only staff members attending guests. (3) Hostess's (1) being owners wife all who seem to be aimlessly walking through restaurant pointing at bussers telling them what they need to be doing. (2) Servers for entire restaurant. When you have a pri fix meal that consists of 90% steak options, you take (2) note pads and pens toss one in a Hostess's hand and another in bussers's tell them to go take orders: table number, how do you want your steak cooked, what sauce? Simple easy peasy. Not what happened. After being seated for quite a while our server finally showed up, took our drink order and we told him we were ready to order our dinner same time, took order and away he went. Bussers begin delivering appetizers (good kids, could tell lost but really, really trying hard) 20 mins later our drinks arrive from server, no ask how is everything, can I get you anything? Drink drop run (He was 1 of 2 servers for entire restaurant, very busy) bussers again keep running a muck doing their very best. All the while my husband and I sitting in a restaurants listening to every table surrounding us complain, from menu, staff to tacky decorations. We politely smile but are dying inside. Dinner arrives. Steak is wonderful, cooked well and tasty but we just couldn't handle another moment of listening to everyone around us complain. It was obvious they needed help and were short staffed, and service other than the bussers was mediocre to say the least. However food was good. I might be willing to try again maybe during lunch on a Wednesday. Prices of food claiming to be high end restaurant with that lack of attention, ehhh. Idk. But really wanna give Bussers a good job, they really were doing everything they could and taking all the verbal backlash on the chin with a smile. If I were their parents I'd be proud.
