Open table reservation was not honored. They had reserved the dining room for a private party so they had to seat us in the bar. It was ok after the initial confusion. I won't use open table again since communication with the restaurant seems to be lacking.

Have been eating at Alchemy for many yes, it's always been great food and service. I think Rhonda has waited on us at least a dozen times over the years and she's always great. This year was no different, great food, great service.

I am not sure what’s going on with this place but I have never been so put off before. I walked in to get a table for my family and I waited at the counter for about 10 minutes. They did have a sign up they were short staffed so I waited as long as my kids could tolerate before we gave up. Not once did anyone say anything to me or greet us or even tell us they’d be right with us. There were 2 tables in the restaurant at the time this was early evening maybe 5:45? I had 3 different staff members look directly at me, made eye contact with me, and then deliberately walked away without any acknowledgment. I felt as though they were refusing me and I hadn’t even spoken to them. It was rude and the atmosphere very uninviting.

We had a memorable evening! Our food was the best of three days in Port Townsend. Plus, there was a delightful musician who enhanced our night -- and invited the pro-musician in our group to sit in. Our waitress was very pleasant and helpful. We will continue to include Alchemy in our itinerary and encourage others to visit.

Went here for our anniversary dinner while we were in town. Our dinner was delicious and cooked perfectly (steak and halibut). The atmosphere was nice and the staff was great.

Our second positive visit from B.C. An enjoyable evening with a couple of witty servers. The chef however failed in the meat preparation. Would definitely return

Fabulous restaurant in Port Townsend - Alchemy. Such delicious pasta pomodoro that we went back twice now for dinner and definitely planning more before I fly back to SF. The decor is so I treating in this historic building. Music 4 nights a week. Amazing service - they wrap your leftover bread in foil in the shape of a bird.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. The ambience was lovely. There was beautiful piano sounds in the background. The food… over the top. We ordered the Halibut/penne and the lamb bourguignon. Simply delicious. Definitely coming back! Our waitress, was delightful as well.

We had three different people wait on us, and the restaurant was fairly empty. The bar tender seated us and took our drink and appetizer order. We ordered crab tots, and he came back and said they didn't have them, would we like to order something else. We ordered the olives and bruschetta, then the busboy brought the tots. At that point we didn't want the other stuff, but nobody asked and here it came from the busboy again. When we got the check, it didn't have the tots on it, so we thought fair enough. Then the server woman came running over to say the busboy told them we got the tots after all and they had to rerun the bill. They didn't even give us a chance to give our side of the story. It was about $175. I expect better for that price.

Absolutely loved the vibes. There was a main dining room as well as a bar area where they were playing live piano which was lovely amd really set a great mood. Nice ambiance, attentive, quick and friendly service and a pretty great food and drink selection. Food was hot and delicious, will absolutely be coming back.

We very much enjoyed our dinner here. The food was delicious, with the portions just right for our preferences — not too little, but not too glutenous, either! Our cocktails were tasty, and each course (appetizer, entrée, and dessert) gave us much to appreciate and enjoy. We were able to sit outside, where they had nice seating arranged, but there was plenty of seating available inside as well. Service was a tad slow at times, as they were understaffed — want a job, they'd like to talk with you — but our server did his best, and was skillful and courteous. We'd go here again.

Everything was perfect for our 40th anniversary dinner. My husband had his favorites escargot and filet mignon. I had the angel hair pasta and garlic shrimp, which was excellent. Rhonda, our server, was outstanding. They were so busy and yet you didn't feel neglected at all. This is our favorite restaurant!

Wow. My husband said the lamb bourguinon is mot only one of the best things he has eating at Alchemy, it is one of the best things he has eaten EVER. Thanks for yet another excellent meal Alchemy!

We sat in the piano bar which was lovely. They were short staffed, and we appreciate the sign, so we knew to be patient. Cocktails were delicious as was the dinner.
