Tater tots and great music. Bartender was awesome to make a coffee based drink.

The bartender did a great job but the live music was just awful with with swearing and making up his own songs as don't songs as you went along. Yikes. They do have Pinball in the back room with tables in there as well. The specialty drink was good - Apollo.

Fantastic charcuterie and very nice vibes. There was a very talented live piano player playing when we were there. One complaint is the drinks. The drinks are fancy and cute but it is either too sweet or not strong enough. Definitely suggest re-working those cocktails a bit. The only one that was decent was decently consistent was the rose water cocktail.

We had such a great time playing and listening to music. The staff is nice and it was a highlight of our trip through Port Townsend.

Awesome little spot in the basement of a building. We had cocktails on a quiet Friday night and there was a nice vibe. They have a good cocktail menu; the Apollo is one of the best cocktails we have had. The 1912 is also good. Friendly bartender. Would definitely come back.

Came here for happy hour and when we arrived the bartender said they weren't doing happy hour. No reason why. Um, okay... it's advertised on your website but sure. Ordered drinks and an appetizer. Server never brought us utensils or napkins and when we asked for them, they were snotty about it. Combo platter was all tots and like three cheese curds. Cocktails were average in flavor but priced like they were fancy ish. Dudes working the bar spent all their time kicking it two women sitting at the bar who obviously wanted nothing to do with them. Would never come here again.

Lovely atmosphere. Cocktails were great. I had the Spanish Harlem which has margarita vibes and my husband had the apolo which was a very smooth gin cocktail with hints of lime and sage. The poached careole eggs which were cooked perfectly. I had the barbecue sandwich. The ciabatta bread was perfectly toasted. I wish the side potatoes had seasoning.

This place f*****g sucks! I hate to be a Chad, but this place is awful. First off, it was about 26 degrees in the restaurant. We spent $165 for 5 people. All of the food was cold and each plate was served 10 minutes apart. I ordered the shrimp scampi (cold) which was served with pasta on the side. The pasta was a tiny bowl of butter noodles. My family ordered the sandwiches, all of which were served on soggy white bread. The appetizer came after dinner was served (also cold), and the drinks were overpriced. Did I mention this place sucks? I'm writing this review while I'm still in the restaurant, that's how pissed I am. I sincerely hope the chef, waitress, and owners get food poisoning from their own swill. Gross,gross,gross..

Great local bar with nice staff! Drinks were good and they apparently have live music sometimes. The bartender played a few tunes just for kicks. Good vibe, glad we stopped in for a nightcap.

I haven't been again since it switched owners so I thought I'd give it a try and I was happy to see a HH menu in place starting at 4, or so I thought. I arrived on a Thursday with my sister a few minutes to 4. We were happy to wait until they unlocked the door at 4. The bartender? Came and unlocked the door and told us they weren't open yet, a few minutes to 4, we responded that we were happy to wait, outside, until they were open.He then proceeded to tell us that he wasn't even close to being ready to open, at this point it's 3:54 or so. We said we would wait and we wanted to give it a try. He then explained that the kitchen wasn't even open until 5 and he wasn't ready to open. Seeing this going nowhere we said we'd try another time to which he responded he was sorry but maybe another time. Not sure if I will. Or maybe I'll wait until 5 next time. Why say you open at 4? If your not going to?

This is a basement bar with a whole lot of character. Bartender was awesome, drinks were perfect and the whole funky vibe of the place was fun! Definitely recommend for a refreshment, and well, they have a free pac man game out back, what more could you ask for!

My wife and I love secret, hidden, underground and out-of-the-way places. Thus, as we wandered around and explored Port Townsend for the first time, discovering several shops and restaurants below street level, we knew we were in for a good time here. Even more so, as we passed the signs for Cellar Door, glancing in the window, we vowed to come back later, as they were not yet opened for the day. Our ferry reservation in the early evening meant that our visit would be brief, but it was an absolute must that we stop here, before leaving town. We're both very glad we did!Back in Portland, there is an awesome gothic-themed bar/restaurant called Raven's Manor, that recently opened earlier this year, and is probably our favorite place in the entire city at the moment. Cellar Door, while significantly more subdued than its compatriot in our hometown, plays to many of the same strength. The sensation of walking into a vampire's crypt or den is felt immediately, due in equal parts to sanguine lighting, crimson drapery, and antique décor. The menu, at least with regards to the beverages (which is all we had time to order, unfortunately), shares a similar flair for the theatrical, with cocktails smoking (dry ice) or crafted with the use of a blowtorch.I stuck with my stand-by of an Old Fashioned, a Happy Hour special, which came with the added touch of smokiness, as the bartender wielded his blowtorch and some sort of scented wood, to add a smoky edge to the glass before pouring. My wife embraced the darkness with a Vampire's Kiss: the aforementioned "smoking" cocktail of vodka, cranberry, grenadine and lemon juice, potent, with a sour bite (hah!) to it.We spent our brief time here conversing with the bartender and the two other patrons at the bar, concerning some of their favorite hikes in the region, settled up, and explored some of the backrooms of the place, at the bartender's suggestion. While we absolutely loved our time here, it was a bit of a shame that we were forced to come so early in the evening, as I can imagine the atmosphere changes significantly on a weekend night. We're already planning our next overnight trip out this way, and the next time, our destination will be Port Townsend, instead of a stop on our way to other places. There's a stage with a piano, for one thing, so live music is definitely a thing here. It would be interesting to see the sorts of creepy customers that come crawling out of the woodwork to fill this place out up a weekend night. I'd better start polishing up my goth boots!

It is the place I would have gravitated to when I was in my 20s. Everyone was waiting for the live music to begin. The menu was sophisticated and intriguing. I had the Gumbo - hot flavorful and spicy. The mix master at the bar is skilled in building specialty drinks.

Good place for drinks and food. I ordered the Strawberry Surprise salad. It met my expectations. The salad has a tasty but smooth dressing, nuts, cheese, and of course strawberries. This salad at the Celar Door makes the top 10 of all time. I will eat here again.
