Our adult family recently had dinner here on the way out to Olympic National Park. Food was delicious and our server excellent. The restaurant is pretty small but they use that to their advantage by making it fun and cozy on a rainy WA evening.
Had a lovely solo dining experience at the Fountain Cafe. The servers were amazing and the food was exceptional. I will be back!
Cozy and comfortable restaurant with great food and service. We shared the kale cesear salad and the Moroccan chicken. Both excellent. Extensive menu and wine list. It has a very small dining area with 7-8 tables and was busy on a Tuesday night.recommend making reservations
One of the loveliest Cafes I have been to. The food though a but expensive was very good and service excellent. The variety of drinks and food was amazing. Very friendly and comfortable atmosphere.
We visited the Fountain Café in Port Townsend based on glowing recommendations, and it absolutely delivered. I had an unforgettable Moroccan seafood stew—rich, fragrant, and bursting with flavors unlike anything I’ve had before—while my husband enjoyed the halibut special, perfectly cooked and beautifully seasoned. We started with a crisp, fresh kale Caesar salad (perfect for sharing) and ended the evening with a luscious tiramisu that was the ideal sweet finish. Every dish was memorable, the service warm, and the atmosphere charming. Highly recommend for a truly special meal.
We received a recommendation from our ABnB host. She provided 4 of her fovorite restaurants--and we initially made a 7 PM reservation- at Fountain Cafe----not our best time I called earlier today to check on any cancellations for an earlier time...which ther were none. But, lucky for us, they called back within 20 Minutes--and offered a 5:30 reservation.. We took it. Dinner was great I had the Crab cakes, and my partner had wild muchroom risoto. Both were excellent. Forgot to mention---this is a veery small "cozy" restaurant. Limitetd tables. Our server Ashley provided great service. Our only complaint was that the door was open the entire time that we were seated...and it was a bit"brezzy" on a cool, cloudy evening. We would eat there again !!
Cool atmosphere. Small, artsy and homey. Fantastic service and a great menu. The least expensive red bottle was really great. Moroccan chicken was 9/10 and the crab cakes made from local crab cakes were 10/10. This is the place in port Townsend !
A charming colorful little cafe with a big bold menu. Lots of great and flavorful dishes from the clams appetizer to the Moroccan chicken dish. Loved the crab cakes and the roasted garlic with Brie appetizers.
Was looking to recreate visit years ago and was disappointed the moment we sat down. Shims in table to keep from wobbling, napkins unhemmed, dirty/mineral stained silver. Chairs had worn paint on walls (wasn’t that what Covid was for, freshening/remodeling restaurant?) Split a house salad. Husband ordered Gorgonzola pasta and added chicken; I ordered lemon chicken pasta. Chicken in pastas seemed microwaved Costco bits, lemon sauce watery (pasta drained?), no taste at all. Gorgonzola pasta tasty and executed better. Salad greens too big; had to cut greens and eat topping as carrot sticks. Only good thing was wine pour was generous. Decided we would have better dessert if at home.
My wife and I had a late lunch/early dinner her based on a recommendation from our tour guide. It turned out that about 20 people from our tour also ate there. It was probably one of the better meals that we had on our 15 day tour. We shared the stuffed mushrooms, clams rose, and seafood linguine - all absolutely delicious, even the 2 IPA draft beers. We will definitely return if we ever visit Port Townsend again. Great hole in the wall restaurant.

This was my second time at The Fountain. I loved it the first time. This visit was disappointing. I ordered crab cakes hoping for meaty lumps of crab delicately held together with a bit of egg and bread crumb. Instead I got shredded crab with me flavor. Uninspiring. The scallops were good but not top quality. I guess it's all about what you order.

At first glance, venue appeared small. But once inside, we experienced intimacy without feeling crowded, even though the house was full. Decor was very nice. Our server was professionally friendly and attentive without hovering. And the food! Oh, my! We understood why everyone, from our hotelier to shopkeepers to a random couple on the street told us not to leave Port Townsend without dining there. It was our 50th wedding anniversary and a very fitting choice.
