The wife and I stayed in the same room 12 years ago and the ambience and the stay was completely different and a little disappointing. The rooms have been remodeled and they added decks which was nice, but they removed all history and quaintness of all the guests written notes stuffed in the brick wall nooks and crannies. There was Lots of notes and signatures from people all over the world which were very interesting. The restaurant which used to be downstairs on the main floor...
This lovely small hotel right in the heart of Port Townsend. I walked to restaurants, the Saturday Farmers Market, and shops. The deck off the waterfront room was sunny and peaceful - perfect to enjoy morning coffee. Self check-in worked great, and the room was well stocked with everything I needed. Will definitely return when I'm in PT!Note that the hotel was beautifully renovated in 2018, so older reviews (especially ones about food from the now-closed restaurant below)...

When booking the hotel, I asked for additional pillows and a fan if possible. I did not hear anything about not being able to fill my requests. (I could have brought my own if I had.) Upon arrival, there were no extra pillows. I tried to make do for the first night and asked for extras the second. Their response was, "sorry we don't have extra pillows."
