Omg, I had the best donut of my life at Sluys Bakery in Poulsno, today. It was called a Danish donut I think. It was braided and glazed and it melts in your mouth. It's perfection. I'm going back tomorrow to get a dozen.

We went to Sluys intentionally in the late afternoon, to beat the crowds. We couldn't look at what was in the cases as we were rushed to choose, and asked at least 4 times by employing to move so othets could be waited on. We were inside for no longer than 5 minutes from walking in to walking out. We were not satisfied with the feeling of being rushed and not able to see all items the shop offered. We bought 5 cookies and 1 brownie. I do not recommend any of them. Cookies and brownie were not terrible but yet nnot what was expected from hype and price. Safeway would have been just as good.

A Poulsbo institution for a reason! The donuts are absolutely delicious and worth waiting in line for. The staff is wonderfully friendly, adding to the charm of its location. It's a fantastic spot for a classic bakery treat. We'll definitely be back, though I do wish they had some gluten-free options so my celiac wife could have enjoyed the experience too.
