A little disappointed the kitchen wasn’t open past 5pm on a Thursday. Just off a freeway and an odd entryway off an alley area past a dumpster. Room was nice and clean and zero staff on site.

We were traveling from WA to ID. Stopped at the Desert Inn on the way, couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The room was wonderful. The wine was great, some very similar to what we experienced while living in the wine country of Sonoma. Can’t say enough about the staff, so very accommodating. We were just sorry that we were there only one night. Will differently stay again when we travel to ID to see the grandkids and family.

Honestly this place is in need of an identity. It feels like they aren’t sure what they want to be and it shows at the point of entry. Signs are covered by bushes. The front entry is like an after thought. Not inviting or easy to follow. Once you open the big doors you see this amazing dining area and wine tasting bar, but from the outside I almost turned around and left. I expressed openly my observations to the managers and both agreed, stating the original use was not intended for the public. The managers and housekeeper were super nice and professional. They couldn’t have been more accommodating. The bedrooms are a major selling point. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would rate this a 5/5, however, the hours of operation and after hours point of entry are below standard. Just a metal stair case on the dumpster side of the building. Dead plants and weeds. Empty planter boxes. Poor lighting. Walking by the dumpster to my car. That said the biggest concern for me were the locks to all the doors. They use the same key code locks I use on my garage. Once you have the room codes, you can reenter any room as well as the outside door. I offer this information to the managers and owners because you really need a better system. With zero after hours security and such an easy point of entry you need locks that codes change after the visit. Just my opinion. I wouldn’t want my wife alone there or for us to leave our room ‘secured while out getting dinner’. I would suggest a fix to this immediately.

We recently hosted our annual awards celebration for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Central Washington Real Estate at Desert Wind Winery, and it was nothing short of fantastic! The ambiance and atmosphere were absolutely perfect for our Cowgirl/Cowboy Chic themed evening—warm, welcoming, and beautifully styled.

A huge thank you to Justice and Michelle for their outstanding support and hospitality. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating throughout the planning process and during the event itself, making sure every detail was just right.

We highly recommend Desert Wind Winery for any special gathering or celebration. It’s a stunning venue with exceptional wines, food and service!

It's also great for wine tasting, grabbing a bite to eat with family, friends or for that special occasion! Thanks Justice and Michelle! We will be back!

Had a great stay at the Desert Wind winery! We chose it as our base of operations for exploring Prosser and Red Mountain wineries and we thought the location was great and the accommodations were super comfortable and clean. We stayed in the 2 bedroom condo since there were 3 of us and for the price you really can't beat the quality of the room.
It is worth noting that the winery and food are only open during the day (from 11 - 5 while we were there) but there are plenty of places nearby to get breakfast or dinner later in the evening.
You also receive a complimentary glass of wine if you check in during regular business hours and a free bottle to enjoy in your room, which provides a great opportunity to sample what they have to offer.
The condo was very quiet and private and you have your own entrance to use if you are coming and going after hours. Would definitely recommend staying here as a great option to explore the nearby wine country.

Beautiful room to serve as our base of operations.
Temperature controls were NOT available in the room, so we had to keep the balcony door open to keep from BAKING.

Amaya surprised us with a mini wine bottle ornament a wine bottle opener for our wine tasting visit. Funny how Desert wind ended up my 2024 - we have stayed here at the inn before for our anniversary last February and the experience was very pleasant.

The good: room itself was gorgeous and comfortable and clean. The wine was very good. And we got a free glass in the tasting room plus a bottle of wine in our room.

The bad: we arrived an hour before check in but were not allowed to check in early despite the place not being full and the room almost certainly being cleaned. Not a huge deal but would have been nice.
The “view” is nothing like their pics. You can get a slight glimpse of the river through a tree but there’s also a major highway visible (and audible). The sky was pretty enough!
And then something I didn’t account for when booking here was that they close at 5 and open at 11. So we had two hours to eat and drink (plus the hour before we could get into our room). I’d imagined settling in and getting dinner and wine without having to go anywhere but that’s not the case.

Rooms: Very large luxurious rooms with fireplaces

Nearby activities: Great wineries close by. We loved 14 hands: spectacular service.

We decided to return to Desert Wind to celebrate my birthday, as we had enjoyed it so much last year, same time. (Mid September.) We were disappointed to learn that they are no longer offering the "small room service breakfast" as part of their package but didn't know that until we checked in... Was challenging to find any local restaurants to accommodate our group of 5. (I suggest you bring back the breakfast. It is a large part of why we rebooked. ) Also, the grounds could be INCREDIBLE, however, there are no flowers in the flowerpots, the shrubs and trees are overgrown and many things are dying. Very sad. The food and wine are outstanding, just like last year and the staff and Justice and Berta are wonderful. We would love to come back but would love to see the breakfast return and some more care of the grounds. :)

Came for lunch. They changed the menu a bit but the flatbreads were great. They also offered kids menu and the large courtyard allowed kiddos to stretch their legs. I recommend the Rhua blend wine.

My family stopped in a week ago. The server instantly notified us that she had ADHD and that her service would reflect such. She was very knowledgeable of the wines we were tasting. She took our lunch order that included a charcuterie board and told us that we couldn't get the charcuterie board because they were out of cheese (which was well within lunch hours). She returned with our order and an over-baked flatbread with balsamic vinegar. She said there was no charge for the bread. She did apologize for the cook. Shortly after, we were waiting for our cutlery which I inevitably approached her for it. She did apologize for not getting the cutlery to us. The experience was not as enjoyable as I had expected. I doubt I will recommend this establishment to others.

Called to inquire about staying in one of the rooms. Lady who answered told me all the info was on the website. I told her I just checked out the website, and she just talked about the website again and told me to call back if I still have questions.

Good indicator of the level of service I can expect there as a guest. I'll look elsewhere for a $300+ room.

Recently married a couple from our church, and after the wedding ceremony, the reception was at Desert Wind Winery. We had the large back reception hall, all to ourselves. It was a very luxurious, well kept, clean, spacious place for this event. We had a great visit, and got to meet one of the owners while there, great smile and conversation.100% Recommend this place for any large group event! Thank you Desert Wind!!Noteworthy details: The fireplace in the large reception hall was gorgeous.

Amazing service, food, and wine. Overall experience was amazing. The food is delicious!! We ordered a rib dip sandwich and wagluke slope burger; very flavorful!!! The wine tasting was so good, the have a mixed and red! Red was our choice and all of them were good. My favorite was the 2019 Mourverde.
