Went for dinner on a Monday night with friends. Calamari appetizer was great. My husband and I both ordered the Halibut but it was overcooked and dry. Our friends said their meals were good. Service was good. They sat us at the one table with a broken overhead light, so it was a little dark, but otherwise the ambiance was good. It's a nice place and I'm sure we'll go back again, just won't order the Halibut!
I have been to Matt's a number of times over the years and been ok with it but not wowed. I have to say, this time it was better. The food was great, the service was on point. We enjoyed our dinner thoroughly.
Big expectations. Wife's Halibut was very overcooked. My risotto was underdone and there were only 3 scallops for the dish @$49. The oysters were delicious and the pistachio affogato was tastey.
I really enjoy Matt's, and it is one of my go-to places when I have customers and out-of-country sales staff in the Redmond area. I would have given a higher rating but the Prime Rib was served barely warm, and the sides were too. It appeared this had been sitting for some time. I did not send it back as the rest of the group had their mains and I didn't want to wait and be eating after they finished. Not a common occurrence at Matt's, so I let it slide. As this was not an inexpensive meal, in the future, if this happens again, I would send it back.
First time dining at Matt's. Definitely I will comeback for the Ribeye with peppercorn, so delicious!
An affordable happy hour spot. Great food and drinks at reasonable prices.

Seemed to be slightly understaffed for a holiday weekend. Our waiter appeared to be handling too many customers at once.
We’ve tried various seafood restaurants around Seattle and throughout the area. I’ll have to say this one tops them all. Great food, great service, great atmosphere. We’ll definitely be coming back.

This is not a chain restaurant. It is locally owned and has been in business for many years. They offer a nice range of menu items. Their oysters are fresh and properly prepared on ice...have had them many times. Their artichoke and Dungeness crab starter is really tasty. I've good meals every time I have dined at Matt's. I especially like their Short Rib Stroganoff, but my dining companions raved about the Prime Rib Dip sandwich. My last visit was with a larger party including a three-year old. Our server was patient, efficient, smiling, and flexible.
I've been going to Matt's since 2006 and never been disappointed. Quality is #1! Service is great and attentive. This casual restaurant is family owned, and the high standards set by the owner show. Good variety in the menu and a good happy hour. The nachos on the HH menu are 5/5. The desserts, especially the chocolate lava cake is splendid. Best calamari in Seattle. Love the rotisserie protein items as well. Nice private event space also available.

With a reservation for 6 we asked for a quieter table. Service was great & there was no rush, allowing for a nice “date night.”
They must not be doing very much business, which is surprising because they're in a great location. The hostess was not particularly friendly...not angry, but seemed like she was not happy in her job. We ordered food at the bar - Our bartender turned out to also be their cook and food server, at times preparing food at the bar which was odd. When they brought our raw oysters we were told they don't have/serve saltine crackers - only some kind of unsalted flatbread. Again, odd for an oyster bar.
The ambiance is bad. I'd a reservation and they seated us at the end of the restaurant next to the restrooms and we could smell the toilet, ugh! Very bad layout, not going back again!
Prime rib was tough. We told the waiter and he did nothing to resolve it. Oysters and fresh peach cobbler was great! Halibut was fresh. We ate outside so rating on ambience should consider this. Would never go back.
This was our first time eating here. Food was okay. The setup and noise level wasn't the best for a private dining or lack of noise experience. I was surprised by where the restaurant is located, and what's served on the menu, that the atmosphere would have been a little more upscale. Pricing was decent, food came out hot and without much wait. I heard the prime rib was the best item, but we all got steak and the risotto.
