Chuck's Donuts has been an early morning staple since I was old enough to pick out my own donuts over 30 years ago.
Now most people who know about this Renton Highland gem will likely tell you that their world renown Maple Bars are the best this side of the Mississippi. I would have to agree, it all comes down to whatever is used in that fluffy light and rich homemade frosting, being generously slathered on each piece of rectangular deep fried dough.
What makes this donut shop even more amazing though, the original owners, who made 3am Donut stops a family outing sold to an Asian family. The whole of the highlands was in shock and very concerned by this. And not because of the race of the buyer but the family maple frosting recipe was a FAMILY recipe. But to everyone's amazement the new owners wouldn't purchase if the family recipe wasn't included. They loved the Maple Bar just as much as every other Renton Highlander.
As you now know, it was included in the sale and this is as good of time as any to say, the rest is history.
DON'T FORGET THOUGH, THE EARLIER YOU ARRIVE THE FRESHER THOSE MAPLE BARS WILL BE. (while supplies last).

Hands down the best maple bars in Washington state, not the normal hard sugary maple glaze but a fluffy creamy texture. I’ve been coming here for a little over 20 years and they’re still the best!

Small mom & pop kind of place. I wasn’t a huge fan of their donuts, as donuts are a bit dense/hard for my liking. As I like a light and fluffy donut with a nice, smooth, glazey chocolate/maple glaze on top, I don’t like frosting like top & that’s what they have here & not very good tasting chocolate & maple. A bit griddy, and is very sweet but the wrong kind of sweet if that makes sense. I did enjoy their apple fritter though

I only came here cause 2 other places weren't either open or our of donuts completely. I wish their maple bars were better.. they don't even taste like a maple bar. Even the frosting on it looked depressing. The blueberry topped muffins were very dry. If you ask me I think they should research online and revamp their donuts cause they definitely are not the best donuts id rather get them at 7/11
