Food is ok, not clear what is stand out about this place but maybe I dine out to often & expect things like a swept floor, maybe some dusting before opening. Service was so terrible it's entertaining. We enjoyed counting the parties served food before us that came in much later than we did while being told how busy they were. Busy sure but not with customers. Busy flirting with the old guys there starved for attention and drinking with them on the job. Sure, work that tip but this place isn't busy, we were the only people there before 9 couples showed up over the course of 2 hours. Why did we stay? To leave this review. Had we not asked for our food it would have been much longer (3 hours). From we were so busy to I don't know what happened, to sorry our apologies we think the tickets got mixed up. We stayed to hear more excuses and they insist we take home a complimentary dessert that we didn't want and expressed clearly we don't eat those kinds of foods but weren't left a choice but to take it as the lady wasn't taking no for an answer. The service was obnoxious, if my wife wasn't starving we wanted to see if we could roll past 3 hours before being served food. I want to try again though but the experience before this was poor as well. It was a good chuckle, an ok steak, with incredibly terrible service both times with my wife. Clients weren't impressed with this place either through the years, I just simply forgot how we're not find of this place given were not fond of it (forgettable if not for the poor service).

Had a great time celebrating birthday dinner. This was my first time dinning at Melrose. We didn't have a reservation but there were available bar seats. We had great service by bartender Melissa she asked was it my first time, ran down the menu, fixed a great drink and topped of with a happy birthday dessert. Food was great

This place is a hidden gem that is well worth a visit. It is a fairly small neighborhood steakhouse but don't let appearances dissuade you. Once inside, you will find a fairly unassuming layout but one perfect for date night or dinner with friends. Because of the smaller size, it can get a bit loud though.

The real star of the show is the food. Most orders come as full meals including sides and salads. The price is about the same, or less, than you pay for just a steak at other places. I recommend getting a filet Melrose size (5oz more than the regular for $18 more) and split with you partner.

The service was also great but knocking one star off this category because we had reservations and still didn't get seated until 30+ minutes after our reservation time.

Overall, I highly recommend checking it out. We need more places like the Melrose in our world.

Melrose Grill is truly a gem in Renton! From the moment you walk in, the warm and inviting atmosphere sets the stage for a great evening. The staff is professional, attentive, and genuinely focused on making sure you have an excellent dining experience.

The steaks are absolutely top-notch—perfectly cooked, tender, and bursting with flavor. You can tell they use high-quality cuts and take real pride in their preparation. The sides and appetizers complement the meal beautifully, and the wine list offers plenty of great pairings.

What I really love is the balance of upscale dining with a cozy neighborhood feel. It’s the kind of place that’s just as perfect for a special occasion as it is for a relaxed night out.

If you’re in Renton or the surrounding area and want one of the best steakhouse experiences around, Melrose Grill is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Small, yet very pleasant! Excellent food , no matter what you order! The staff is very wonderful when they are in your presence. I have no complaints and that is saying a lot when it comes to me and my food in restaurants! The Melrose Grill hands down is a awesome place for a romantic dinner for 2 or a quiet well made dinner for 1, to get a peace of mind! Eating at this restaurant, you will not be disappointed. I have been back a few times since finding them for my birthday last year, where they became my FAVORITE PLACE TO EAT.!!

Steak was over cooked took 35 minutes for water and bread. Hyped this place up to my friends and was served something I could have done better for cheaper. Coming back for a rerun but definitely not recommending this place so flipantly anymore

Excellent service, great steak. May have just been the crowd, but very noisy. Also a little to cool for my comfort preference. Worth a try.

We enjoyed our meal so much. A couple of things made our experience less than stellar. First and in our face was the very cold air conditioning. I am sure that it felt great to the wait staff. It was uncomfortable for the patrons sitting still. My steak was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection. My garlic mashed potatoes were not hot and would have been much better served hot.

Steaks were great. We were initially in a non-booth table but could not hear each other due to being so close to a large group (they were fine, it was just cramped). Luckily, the front desk person got us moved to a booth where it was much more intimate.

Unfortunately, there was a group that got seated in a adjacent booth to us shortly after we moved that seemed to have had too much to drink before they arrived. They kept clapping randomly and shouting to one another while they waited for their food. They seemed nice, just oblivious to how much louder they were to everyone else.

We enjoyed the food, but we might avoid dining in going forward.
