It's the only place left with a tortellini special but a little on the expensive side

Me and my family lived in Washington a couple years ago. We moved back down south 2021. But one thing my family haven’t forgotten is the customer service and food here at Romio’s. My husband tells everyone to that’s his favorite pizza spot.

This is the first time I've had Romio's in 10 years. My wife got diagnosed with celiac disease before we moved back to Renton, which means restaurant pizza is a rare thing. So when she planned a night out, I got excited about having my favorite pizza again. I ordered sausage, bacon, Canadian bacon and pepperoni on garlic crust...and then I saw I wasn't at the $35 delivery minimum, so I ordered some cheese bread...nope, still not there. I understand that restaurants need to be able to pay their drivers, so I grimaced and ordered a side salad, which finally put me over. But finalizing my order evaporated that goodwill when I saw that there's a delivery charge tacked onto the price. Plus tip. So those 3 items wound up setting me back more than $50.

But I was excited for my pizza! It arrived in a very reasonable time, and was as pretty as any picture you'll see on a website or menu. It looked so good I put a slice on a plate with some bread and salad and took a pic to text to my wife. Then, it was time to eat!

Salad first: It was...fine. It's hard to mess up a Caesar salad. No complaints.

Cheese bread: Um. How do you make French bread and cheese taste bland? Did you not salt the bread dough? Or the oil substrate? Maybe they forgot to toss some garlic salt on top of the cheese? Whatever happened, it was utterly flavorless.

OK, it's not made to be eaten plain. I dipped it in the very generous cup of marinara, and...ew. The marinara is unbearably sweet, with almost no other distinguishable flavor. It tasted like tomato puree, dried oregano, maybe some dried basil, and sugar. Lots of sugar. I choked down the rest of my piece of bread plain and dove into the main event. Surely the spicy sausage and salty bacon will counteract some of the sweetness for a nice, balanced final dish?

Pizza: Nope. The sausage had no spice whatsoever. If it hadn't tasted vaguely porky I would've thought they accidentally gave me plain hamburger meat. There was so little bacon that I just didn't notice it at all. I barely even noticed the pepperoni. Even worse, the garlic in the crust tasted burnt and bitter, drowning out any more subtle flavors (not that I feel there were any subtle flavors, but if there were, they were buried). It was basically a cheese pizza with burnt garlic and the texture of meat without any of the flavors. I ate 2 slices and threw the rest away.

Again, this used to be my favorite pizza on the planet, and I'm not so young that 10 years would change my palette or likes and dislikes significantly. Either something changed significantly in the past decade, or this was a seriously off night. Either way, I'm not willing to gamble another $50 to find out.

Just popped in here for lunch with a buddy. Honestly everything was great from the prices to the staff and all around cleanliness and atmosphere of the restaurant! I highly recommend the chicken parm sub and pretty much anything on the menu.

Vegetarian options: Tons of veg options on the menu all of which look and sound amazing

Dietary restrictions: They have a low carb section of the menu and tons of different items

Parking: All in front of the restaurant

Kid-friendliness: They have a bar section but a completely family friendly section too! With a pretty dope kids menu

Wheelchair accessibility: No steps or bumps the restaurant is fully wheelchair accessible.

I just moved to the renton. I randomly found myself in front of romios. I walked in just to check out the vibe inside. I quickly realized I was in “my kind of place” as I love supporting local small businesses (at least the good ones). The owners Brett and Savi were absolutely awesome!! They were so so nice and Incredibly welcoming. I ordered the pesto pizza. It was super cheesy and not overly pesto-y. I really enjoyed it. I look forward to coming back here to try the other items on their menu. I hear their pasta is fantastic too!

They are always great! Food is wonderful and the people are friendly. The portions are large, and we normally end up reheating the leftover calzones and pasta for lunch the next day. Last night there was an issue with one of our calzones but they were very understanding.

Thanks, Romio's Pizza and Pasta! You guys are great.

I’ve eaten at this location twice. The first time I found it acceptable. The service was fast, friendly and the food was okay. I wasn’t in love with the marinara sauce because I thought it was too sweet, but my dish was still palatable. Today, that was not the case. My husband and I were the only people there and the time it took to get our food was definitely longer than the last time. My husband also ordered a Caesar salad to start with and was given a house salad with ranch. I was not offered a choice of soup or salad because I had a low carb dish however my dish was just as costly as the pastas. This is the least of my complaints though. My dish was…not great. The tomato sauce tasted awful. The chicken and eggplant were okay and there was plenty on the plate but it was hard to be excited about the prospect of leftovers because the sauce was just awful. Even my husband who previously liked the sauce thought it was off. We didn’t want to say anything and ask for alternatives because our baby needed to go down for a nap so we paid our bill, tipped our server the standard 18% we always give and left vowing to not return, at least not until we get feedback or a guarantee that the food will be better. We sincerely hope it will since we hate to see local restaurants close. To the owners of Romeo’s in Renton, we hope you read this and take the time to go through your menu and recipes and ensure they are up to standards the general public would like to consume
