The food is not what we had on the 60's.

Have lived in Fairwood area since 1999, Wild Garlic never disappoints. It has been through a few different owners over the years yet always seems to live up to good expectations. General Tso chicken a favorite as well as Broccoli Beef. Mostly do take out as the interior does need updating.

This restaurant is a gem in Renton's Fairwood neighborhood. Recommend this place for delicious, authentic Chinese food! My mom even comes up from Pierce County just for this restaurant - and y'all know how hard it can be to impress a Chinese mama.Tonight we ordered the mapo tofu (we order this almost every time) a fish and fried tofu dish (first time trying and it was SO good), the garlic eggplant, and the Mongolian beef (not pictured be we ate it too fast).Everything was stand out! My favorite was probably the fish and tofu dish that came out sizzling, but it's honestly hard to pick a favorite. Also you like eggplant, seriously don't skip out on the eggplant! I’m salivating thinking about this dish. They of course also have the standard orange chicken and such. They also have an awesome lunch combo with those American-Chinese options that we sometimes get too. It's also very good.Sit down service comes with free tea.Unless you're getting a combo, you do have to order rice separately with entrees.Service is pretty basic but very fast - our drinks were never empty. What more can you ask for when just looking to eat delicious food.Atmosphere is fine - clean and a good temperature, warm lighting.Highly recommend eating family style so you can try more dishes! I don't bother reviewing places often but really love the food at this place. Five stars for sure.

Used to be our go to Chinese place ate there probably once a week but it changed owners like a year or more ago. Been there a couple times since and food isn't the same quality different recipes that are nowhere near as flavorful and portions are smaller as well... also had the same experience as another review who said they were there first but another table was larger and (Asian) was served first and checked on more.. not sure if they were being racist towards non Asians or catering to the larger check but sure felt like it. Won't be going back

We were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food was at Wild Garlic. The waitress & wauter were very helpful & friendly. We brought our adult kids & grandkids there. This restaurant used to be Chang's before the pandemic. We ate there often. So, we were all pleased that the food was just as wonderful.

My whole family ended up getting really sick from this place. Although I originally enjoyed the food it appears that it wasn’t cooked fully. We ordered general Tso, shrimp fried rice, chow mein, and egg rolls. My wife and young son (less than 2 years old) experienced the worst of it. Won’t be having Chinese for a while.

Power went out on Father's day. We ordered our meal and were waiting when it happened. They hadn't even started cooking our food. It took them another 15 minutes to tell us the food was not going to be made till the Power was restored.

Fairwood Renton location. The general taos chicken was not spicy and the huge chunks of chicken didn't appear to be cooked too much. The broccoli was hard and barely steamed next to rawThe steamed rice was actually dry and hard to swallow. Additionally, the waitress gave me the worst service I've ever experienced. I left my food and declined a take home box stating I didn't like it and questioned the quality of the meat. Worse 25 dollars I've ever spent. A total waste. The restaurant itself is nice with tablecloths.

The experience wasn’t good.(1) After seated and ordered, we waited for around 50 minutes before the food was ready.(2) The rice bowl is only a little bigger than a teacup, and each bowl costs $2. Rice cost $8 for 2 adult and 1 child, attached a picture, you can see how small the bowl is. We don’t mind pay for the rice, but “$8 for four white rice balls” was not very reasonable charging. We will never go to this restaurant again.
