Roche Harbor is a must-see, and this place is a must do! Large deck right in the water overlooking the Marina. We were seated outside in the sun right away at 1PM. Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, he took exceptional care of us. This Grill does close for the Winter season, typically after September 30. My better half had the Steak Bowl and I had a salad, but we're fresh and light and filling. Highly recommend!

Best food we had on the island. Relaxed atmosphere with great gluten free options. Loved this spot and Roche harbor, 10/10 would recommend. Excellent service and everything was more than reasonably priced.Dietary restrictions: Awesome menu options for dietary restrictions without sacrificing all the nitty gritty gluten’s that many of y’all get to freespiritedly enjoy.

Our server was very nice and professional, and had great recommendations. I got a delicious mojito and a poke bowl, which was big and full of fresh ingredients. The view from inside was incredible and the surrounding town is very cute.

Coming from a city with a booming food scene on the east coast, we've found it difficult to find truly good food on the island. The food at Madrona is some of the best we've had here. In the times I've eaten here, I've never had a bad experience. Highly recommend the beef dip sandwich. I ordered it with cheese, peppers, and onions but I think I'd go with just the beef next time. The meat itself was super tasty. It would be great if they served it with jalapeños or some type of pickled peppers (if you're into a spicy kick). I'm sure they could add that if you ask. The fries are incredible. My wife loved the smokey peach drink and I had the brambleberry which was good but I'd probably try something else next time. I'd love to see more peach drinks on the menu. The restaurant is on the pricier side - but that is everything on the island. At least you're paying for good food and service. Expect a minimum of $100-150 for two people if you each get a dish and a drink. Atmosphere is great, as expected. You're right on Roche Harbor which is one of my favorite spots on the island. It's a different crowd than you sometimes see in downtown Friday Harbor - a bit older, which we prefer, friendlier, and more relaxed. Service is excellent and I love that the servers have their home city on their nametags. It's just a nice touch on top of everything else. Highly recommend.

The view here is beautiful and the food is great!Unfortunately the service left something to be desired.I got married at Roche Harbor last month and we had over 100 guests patronizing the businesses there. Many of them ate here and had similar experiences. Our first negative experience was after our rehearsal dinner. A large group of our guests went to Madrona after for drinks. My fiancé and I arrived about 10 minutes after last call, after putting our fussy baby to bed. For some reason we thought they closed 30 minutes later. When one of our friends tried to order us a drink, the way he was spoken to by the bar manager was completely disrespectful and unnecessary. The bartender working was nice enough, but the way the bar manager spoke to our guests stuck with me. I understand that there are rules for a reason and I get that drunk people can be annoying, but a) you work in a bar, and b) there are respectful ways to say no. Not to mention the hundreds of dollars of tips that came in on an otherwise slower night. I brushed this off because I attempted to empathize with the staff. The second experience was for lunch. There were four of us originally and we ran into three other guests of our wedding while we were being seated. We kindly asked to pull up the empty table next to us so we could sit together and were treated as if we asked for someone’s soul or first born child. They complied with our request, but again, there is a nice way to say no. Again, the food was great, but the drinks took forever. Toward the end of the meal, my cousin and myself ordered espresso martinis. 10 minutes later the server came back to tell us that they could not make our espresso martinis because we had “cleaned them out of espresso”. Had this been said with a smile in a joking manner, I would have laughed it off and ordered something else, but it wasn’t. We were met with the same attitude we experienced a few days prior.Honestly, we were made to feel like nuisances which was ultimately disappointing. I truly hope that everyone was just having an off week and that this is not the general experience here.

We stopped in for lunch after a short flight over from orcas island. Wow! We got calamari, cobb salad, rock fish sandwich, French dip, and the chicken sandwich plus Fries and slaw. Everything we got was phenomenal! Our group is fairly well traveled around the world and generally tough critics; we were all quite blown away by how good this place was.Worth adding, the deck has an incredible view. Often times places with a great location / view ride on that rather than the quality of there food. Definitely not the case here!

Food was not bad, but hardly fit the description on the menu for an Italian Waygu Grinder...it was like a small/cheap french dip. For $25 there is better value in the area. Food came less than 5 minutes after ordering so it was pretty clear things were not really made to order...

This place is very good. Their fish and chips were delicious, as was their caesar salad. Great view of the harbor and great location. The prices are very reasonable for the location and food quality (everything and every place in the San Juan islands is 20-25% more expensive than the mainland because it has to be shipped in via ferry). This place comes highly recommended in my book.

After an amazing dinner at McMillin’s, we went for a cocktail here. We asked if it was ok to sit at one of the unoccupied tables inside and was told that was not possible. So we went to the bar and asked if it was ok to order drinks and then sit down at one of the tables inside. No one seemed to want us to sit and have a drink, it was actually uncomfortable and awkward. One bartender was quite rude and told us to “move out of the box”. The bar and restaurant were not busy and there was obviously room for us to have seat, but they clearly did not want us to be there. After we got our drinks and were signing the checks, they seemed offended by the 15% tip as well.

I came not believing that a restaurant that caters to tourists would bother too make anything edible. I was dead wrongThis place makes outrageously good food . Best fries ever eaten. Friends their wagyu roast beef will make you weep openly like a child. I will thinking about this meal for a while. First rate service, outstanding views.Madrona doesn't need to be good as the average customer never comes back, but they are excellent because they clearly care!!Bravo!!!

We stopped in for a quick beer and an appetizer. The calamari was a large serving and we loved how it was prepared. The visit was well worth it.
