In unfamiliar environments, I tend to be fairly stoic. Sometimes that’s intentional; other times it’s rooted in the quiet anxiety that comes with stepping into the unknown. Familiar places feel safe, predictable, and comfortable—so I usually stick to them.
While waiting for Northwest Chevrolet to finish an oil change, I found myself with time to spare and wandered over to Worthy Coffee. I should note: I rarely drink coffee. I don’t really enjoy the taste. That said, I’ve grown to appreciate the nutty spices of chai tea—especially with a shot of white coffee. Who knew?
Walking into Worthy Coffee, I fully expected to feel out of place, that subtle discomfort I often feel in new spaces. Instead, I was met with something unexpected. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and the baristas were kind—with just the right amount of silliness and camaraderie. It felt authentic. Real. Human.
To my surprise, I also ran into a couple of familiar faces, which sparked some genuinely good morning conversations and added an extra layer of ease to the experience. The space didn’t just serve coffee—it created connection and community.
Even though I received a bacon cheddar scone instead of the jalapeño cheddar one I asked for…Worthy Coffee turned an ordinary wait into something grounding and pleasant. What I expected to be a semi-uncomfortable detour became a reminder that sometimes unfamiliar places can feel just as welcoming as the ones we know best.

I stayed at this coffee shop for about 3 hours working remotely while my home power was out, until I couldn't take the loud religious music and decor any longer.

Next door in the thrift store, this music can be heard thumping all day long. I feel bad for the thrift store, which has amazing prices, selection, and staff. Also a normal noise level!

The owner is very friendly, but more than once a customer came in and they started loudly talking about the most recent worship service they'd been to, and someone started crying. This was not a great atmosphere for getting work done, nor relaxing with coffee.

Absolutely love stopping in at Worthy coffee!! Brandi and her team are experts in a level of service you just can't find anywhere else. Welcoming, friendly, personable, and passionate about what they do! Wether I'm stopping in for a quick morning espresso, or bringing my kids to shop for goodies and grab some pastries & ice cream on the weekend, every time I leave I feel a million times better than when I walked in. Everything from daily caffeine intake, local vendor markets, worship nights, the vibes are unmatched ✨

My wife and I were on our way home from one of our many adventures when we stopped here for a cup of coffee and a snack. Unlike me, my wife has severe food allergies, which often makes it difficult to find places that offer gluten-free options without propylene glycol.

To our surprise, they had exactly what she could eat—and it was excellent. The atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed, the kind of place where you can sit down, enjoy a good cup of coffee, and spend some time connecting with people.

One of my horse friends came over and picked up some extra horse blankets I discovered while cleaning and organizing my garage. We decided to go get coffee, while it was still daylight, and before it was time to do the evening farm chores.

Right between Roy and McKenna is Worthy Coffee. It is a quaint little coffee shop with gourmet ice cream, artisan desserts, including gluten free, and a variety of drinks, including espresso.

We were greeted by Kylie as we walked through the door. She answered all of our questions, and even made suggestions to help guide our purchase.

My friend ordered an iced mocha and the GF pumpkin scone. As soon as I saw the Triple Chocolate coffee my decision was made. I had my choice of hot or cold. With the lovely rainy weather we have been experiencing, with huge storms still to come, I went with hot. I also chose the everything bagel with cream cheese.

Kylie made our coffees and heated up our food and we went to a table and sat down. My coffee was nice and hot, rather than the lukewarm I typically am served, unless I specify hot, (Even then, the temperature is disappointing.)

Marjie took one bite of her scone and said it was delicious!!! She is not a fan of GF, but eats that way most of the time, because of a health issue she battles. She said the scone was every bit as good as the non-GF. My bagel was lightly toasted, and the cream cheese was just soft enough to spread evenly over both halves. It complemented my coffee perfectly.

The two of us took our time, talking about our horses, our training techniques, which are quite similar, and the horse world in general. Then, we both went down the path of horses who were no longer with us, when I mentioned the two I had to put to sleep last month, and we sat there crying, feeling a little silly. (Angel was 35 and Choklit was almost 34. Both had lived good lives, and it was their time, not that putting them down made the decision any easier.) Follow the ranch on Facebook to learn more about me. Fortunately, we were the only ones there. The other customers had come and gone.

If you are ever in the Roy area, I highly recommend stopping for coffee, ice cream, or a treat. They are right on Hwy. 507. There is plenty of parking and even outside tables for those nice days.
