Always a great time at 74th. Solid food menu with daily specials, incredible soups, and a great beer list. Bartenders are fast & professional. Great neighborhood spot!

I will preface this by stating I came towards the end of the evening after the Car Show so I get that folks might be tired but it wasn't busy when I came in. However that can't be an excuse for the service I received.
I sat outside and waited for waitstaff that never came. I went inside to get a menu and waited for that, too. Then I went outside to see what I wanted to eat and drink. Unfortunately, they must have lost me because I had to go back in and order food and drink at the bar rather than at my table. Fifteen or twenty minutes later the bartender came out and told me he FORGOT MY ORDER!
You'd think that would be enough but even after finishing eating I had to go in to seek out staff to pay my bill. Somewhat surprised they didn't ask me to bus my own dishes, too.
So, in other words, the service was painfully sub-par.
As to the food, it was fine but the gumbo was topped with a three pepper salsa that only served to make the dish super spicy as opposed to complementing the flavors. It was on the verge of not being edible and maybe it wasn't for someone who doesn't like spicy food. The salad was good but that is a salad. I've heard other things are tasty but I can't speak to those.
I may go back but the service left a bit to be desired so we will see...

The Reuben sandwich is fantastic. The way they grill the bread... it must be unhealthy because it tastes so good. Staff is friendly. They always seem to have Ruebens Porter on tap. I eat there all the time.

I have been coming here for over 20 years : when I lived in Seattle and when I visit. We came today after going to MoPOP. We wanted a chill atmosphere with guaranteed good food. I always order the Reuben or soup. Today, they had vanilla cider. So wonderful!
They have GF Macrina Ancient Grains Bread! I haven’t had an actual Sandwich in a restaurant in ages, but today, it was not only GF it was delicious! So good I ordered one to take home.
Go for the good food, good atmosphere, very friendly service and cozy feeling.
Parking: Be sure to plan to walk a little. It’s difficult to tell when parking will be available near the restaurant. We don’t mind walking a few blocks. It’s worth every step.
I've had the gumbo for 20+ years and it's the best in town.
