So disappointed, this ruined our family’s new year eve dinner. I was gonna forget about it and not leave a review but sleeping through the night I still feel like I ate a sour lemon.
The food was tiny portion and cheap ingredient and the taste was plain. For 6 course with around $200 per person including tips and taxes, I was not full until they gave me the fifth course with steamed potato and plain broiled pork… I felt stupid finishing that plate. The taste were not surprising and flat. I can steam these ingredients myself at home.
If this was like $100 per person I would not be so mad, but $200 was a complete rip off. It could be that I was unfortunate where the menu was awful that single night, but whatever, you guys can go at your own risk.

I ordered a 6-course menu and I really can’t praise it. Not to my Chinese taste. The food is bland and nothing special. Only 2 of the 6 dishes tasted special. Several other dishes taste very much like the fast food in the supermarket. Comparatively cheap. Do not recommend this restaurant. Help the people avoid lightning.

Boyfriend brought me here as a surprise during our weekend trip to Seattle 😋 loved the fact that both lamb and scallops were on the menu which is not something I come across very often (it was very difficult to decide between my two favorite proteins but I ultimately went with the scallops lol). Together we feasted on the Parmesan churros, octopus, crab laminated pasta, seared scallops, coffee cake, and apple cake - standouts for me were the octopus, scallops and apple cake but everything was in reality very delectable ! The rosemary and berry mocktail was also light and refreshing
Service was fantastic and decor was interesting to look at, definitely had great date-night vibes 😊
Overall would love to visit again and try the lamb pasta !

TL;DR - Good service and ambience, nice presentation but flat/ mediocre taste, not worth the price.
It took 30 min after we finished our first appetizers before the second round was served. The smoked octopus looked very nice, but I couldn’t taste or smell the aroma from grilled protein, which was a let down.
Seafood quality was doubtful, it tasted like the scallops were “aged”, which brought out the umami, but the sweetness was all gone.
Overall seasoning was flat, nothing recommendable.

For special occasions, we always choose to dine at 84 Yesler. Every time, we are greeted warmly, and not only is the food delicious, but the presentation is also exceptional. It’s the perfect restaurant for celebrating a special day with special people. The fact that the owner is Japanese adds a wonderful touch of Japanese hospitality, and you can see subtle influences of Japanese culture in the dishes as well. Once you dine here, I’m sure you’ll be impressed.

Food was divine and creative, a talented kitchen.The service was great from start to finish. The staff was attentive and eager to ensure we had everything we needed. They were knowledgeable about the chef's menu beyond simply memorizing the components of the dish.

The bartender asks if he can get me a drink while I’m waiting to be seated. I said “no, I’d like to dinner.” He says, “we’re fully booked.” “Uh, ok. Celebrated a birthday at 84 Yesler recently and had a tasty dinner with excellent service and intimate vibes. We opted to not do the tasting menu, and came away happy with the specific dishes ordered, in particular the pastas. I'm giving the overall experience a 5/5, but the food only 4/5 due to the price to portions/quality ratio. Food was good - but overpriced in my opinion. This is an instance where I wish I could give 4.5 stars.
