This is a great spot — we come here often for both food and coffee and it’s always great with amazing staff! One suggestion: please consider better training for staff on making matcha. I’ve had it made perfectly once, which keeps me ordering it, but most times it’s been too thin and not mixed properly. Would love to see more consistency!
Best restaurant coffee in Seattle, and better coffee than many cafes! My wife had a latte that exceeded any restaurant coffee we've had anywhere, and my espresso was also the best I've had outside of a coffee roasters. We also had the rose pistachio cake which was the perfect balance of nutty, sweet, and moist, best cake we've had in Seattle. I also had a chocolate espresso macaron, and it met my standards (exceeded my expectations for America). Altogether, this place could compete with most European bakeries and cafes, which is really saying something.
Failed to take a picture until I was halfway thru eating it but this is the best frittata I’ve ever had!
Had a cortado and a savory danish (ricotta and a savory jam with some kind of sliced vegetable that may have been squash or zucchini, I didn't listen super closely to the description). The cortado was one of the better cups I've had without going for a fancy single-origin, and the danish was both delicious and delightfully flaky.
The food rating is for my drink Aperol Spritz. I was served without an orange slice. The server did not update or let me know. She just kinda put it on the table and walked off. I had to ask her if there was no orange and she confirmed that they had no orange....
Kinda weird that as customers we have to ask for the missing ingredients. It would not have been an issue and the drink itself wasn't, if she had just informed me rather than trying to, what I think, is tricking the customer, me in this case. Not sure if she thought a guy like me would not notice.
Oh, she also put 2 cherries as a substitute for the missing orange slice. She did not ask if that would be okay or not. Just there. Have it or don't. Lmao!
So, if they are trying to trick the customers like this then I can see then doing the same with their other items on the menu.
Do better!
I am what society fears: old, and possibly cantankerous. I may not yet be walking with a stick to shake at the sky for yelling at clouds, but I do possess a rapidly decaying physical form. I can no longer enjoy many of the foods I used to love in my youth, and that especially pertains to baked goods. So much of what is made in the U.S. is on the extreme end of the sweet spectrum for me. My teeth cry out in pain at the first bite of cake. If anyone needs me, I’ll be drinking my cup of tea, unsweetened, in the corner. And this is why I am head over heels in love with the rose-pistachio – pistachio-rose? – cake at Alexandra’s. It is not too sweet—and I mean this as the highest, best, penultimate compliment I could ever give. The cake slice is just the right portion to enjoy with my tea, and the sugar is balanced perfectly to allow all the other flavors to come through. And it’s pretty. I’m not a take-pictures-of-my-food sort of person, but I would snap a photo of this cake for social media. Never take it off your menu, Alexandra! It is the best slice of heaven for cranky old people like myself.
We were biking through the neighbourhood and found this gem - perhaps the best waffles we have ever had! And the frittata was amazing!! It’s too bad we are from Canada or this would be our go to spot!!
Little too greasy and rich but overall nice brunch
Very good food and atmosphere!
Excellent spot to sate your brunch and baked cravings. The cheesy croissant was perfectly flaky and savory. Rarely do you get this level of perfection in a croissant. For this alone I'll be a repeat customer!
The savory waffles were quite interesting with a medley of flavors including maple syrup! The fried egg and the cheddar jalapeno cornbread combo really go well together. The sandie was equally flavorful and decadent.
My only complaint was the chai. It was made with a chai mix of sorts and it tasted like chai flavored milk instead of actual chai. But this is a Seattle thing. So they are excused!

BAD COFFEE! SAVE YOURSELVES😭😭 Just came in to order lattes for my partner and I. Unsure if they just don’t focus on coffee here but my latte was absolutely terrible. My gf’s latte was great, and I ordered a quad (my typical order at most shops) so I thought mine may have just been more concentrated (which makes sense!) but I had my gf try mine and she Gagged. It tastes like they filled my cup w stale drip coffee and topped it off with a burnt shot. Will not be returning, deeply disappointed at how much we paid. My gf wanted us to go back so she could re-order for me but we’re busy and don’t have time. :,(
edit: just poured out the cup, and it had quite a bit of grounds at the bottom as well.
Cute, French style cafe. Highly recommend pastries and the chai.
Our favorite neighborhood spot! The space is so cozy and the staff are welcoming. They serve delicious baked items, coffee and brunch during the day, and on the weekends they have a fantastic pizza menu for dinner. The macarons are creative and delicious, we get them for special occasions all the time!
Coffee is so so - Everything else including the space was great. Treats looked delicious but my cappuccino was super diluted. They had no idea how to make it and given their review, I was hoping for at least a pretty good one.
Only friendly if you're white, definitely not a place for you to feel welcomed if a non white person. I don't recommend this place and I won't be back here again.
