World class food, plating and service — I’ve been to many tasting menus and Michelin starred places, and the food, plating and service here is ‘up there’ with the best of them. That being said it’s a wonderful cozy and intimate atmosphere. It’s world class fare and service but laid back and cozy. Very Seattle, and very Capitol Hill!

One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The service was flawless, the atmosphere was calm and upscale, and every course was incredible. The chefs even let me try fresh Italian truffles, which was a crazy good surprise and showed how much pride they put into their food.

Not only were we sent home super satiated, but they went above and beyond with the adorable desserts to-go and a copy of the physical menu. Michelin tier fare. Simply Phenomenal. The attention to detail and degree of execution was incredible! The smoked mussels were a standout in an otherwise flawless tasting menu.
We prefer this menu to many Michelin tasting menus, which can over complicate and confuse. Altura is the familiar, elevated to the aspirational.
The ambiance is unassuming; uniquely, you can see the kitchen from your seat. The pace isn't wild or frantic, but methodical and careful - it's like they execute to this degree without effort - truly a treat to observe.
Overall, a favorite for our party. We plan to return when we are next in Seattle.

I would describe the food as playful and tasteful. Tastes are beyond what the food looks like. In each and every dish, they tried to merge a series of different tastes, and it works so well together. Some of the more adventurous tastes are well balanced, as even some taste that are normally unpleasant for me are actually more than bearable - they are quite good. I was hesitating to order the nonalcoholic pairing, for the price looks a little bit unreasonable considering it's not alcohol, yet it's such a pleasant surprise. Same as food, they are very tasteful, and I can always find a little twist to tastes that are familiar and ordinary, which makes them way better than expected. Overall, I would say it's a very pleasant experience.
