Love love love the mushroom quiche.
For some reason, this is my favourite of their three locations. I love the caprese and ratatouille sandwiches, the baguette, the plain croissant, and galette des rois etc.
Just try a bit of everything and discover your own favourites.

Bakery Nouveau in Seattle is a must visit for anyone who loves exceptional pastries. Everything is beautifully made, but the twice baked almond croissant truly stood out. It was flaky, rich, perfectly sweet, and absolutely incredible. The quality, care, and craftsmanship really shine through in every bite.

Get there before 11:00 AM or prepare to be disappointed they’re usually sold out by then. Whether it’s the Burien or Seattle location, the Capitol Hill one at least has slightly better customer service.
That said, everything here tastes too creamy, too rich, and too heavy. The croissants are dense overly buttery, oily, and likely to leave you constipated for days. This is not exaggeration; it’s digestive reality. I never BS. I’m a harsh food critic, and I’ve earned that right by traveling the world.
The only halfway redeeming item is their tuna croissant, and even that has wilted, old salad leaves. Most items are wildly overpriced. If I’m paying $9 for a croissant with cheese and meat, it better taste amazing this doesn’t.
The coffee? Burnt and bitter. Seattle’s reputation for coffee is baffling to me most places, including this one, serve generic-tasting, over-roasted sludge. Honestly, I’d rather go to Starbucks.
Tried the pizza today cold even after they offered to warm it. I tossed it. Their ham and Swiss croissant is absurdly heavy, more like a greasy pig-in-a-blanket than a proper pastry. Croissants are supposed to be light.
I’ve tried nearly all their pastries too much cream, too little finesse. Their candy is okay. Their chocolate cake is passable but overwhelming. Expect to drop $50 fast and feel like you swallowed a brick.

Bakery Nouveau has a special kind of magic: dedicated, kind and patient staff with very little turnover, consistently divine pastries and goodies, a European patisserie feel....a treasure in our neighborhood!

There was a great variety of options, and everything we tried was delicious, but the ratatouille sandwich was my favorite.

***They reached out immediately in order to make things right. That is a huge plus. ***Just bought two cinnamon rolls this morning that were clearly a few days old.

Honestly, I have tried to like this place. The bread is good. Everything else is sub par and over priced. Ham and cheese croissant - $8, served cold, under baked. Coffee cake - $5, dense, cheaply sweet, just not good. 8 oz coffee - $3.75!!
I spent $19 with tip and the only good thing was the coffee. :(
Everything is delicious. Except service today sucked. I was forgotten about and no one did anything until I asked about my order. Stood there forever. The pot pie was a miss. Would have been good if it was seasoned. No salt no nothing wasn’t pleasant to eat at all.

This is the best bakery in Seattle and they have the trophy to prove it!
I have been going to bakery nouveau for years and hope that they will be around for decades to come.
This French bakery offers incredible breads, pastries, pizzas, quiche, chocolates, jams, and many other delicious treats. The line often extends out the door, but that’s OK as the sidewalk is covered and the line always moves quickly. The abundant and helpful staff are quick to offer suggestions and they are kind and friendly.
The trophy mentioned earlier refers to the Coupe de Monde de la Boulangerie (World Cup of Baking) that their founder won. The Bakery Nouveau baguettes and croissants are works of art that will ensure you visit this West Seattle gem often.
