Taste was fine, but I was expecting more meat. Overall slightly above average.

Unfortunately, the Pad Thai was really disappointing — the flavor was far from authentic and tasted off. It didn’t resemble traditional Pad Thai at all, which made it feel like a waste of money. On top of that, the service was unwelcoming. When I arrived for takeout, the person at the counter tossed the order across without a word — not a great experience. I won’t be returning.

The food is okay. Been here a bunch because it is so close. The food quality isn't consistent nor remarkably flavorful or of great presentation, and the prices are high for a student-oriented lunch spot. Sitting in the sun is nice.

Banh mi is average (smaller compare to other places though) but their vermicelli bowl with meat is quite bad and flavorless. It's not inedible but overall less than mid food
A no frills restaurant at the U district features South East Asian Cuisine and very affordable my personal favorite is the beef pho with tripe good broth and clean flavors highly recommended
Vegetarian options: They have limited vegetarian menu but what they have is decent

The pineapple rice is sucked, and the rice is overwatered. And the pineapple is not fresh.

Very pleased. Broth is the best I've had in the UD (includes Pho Shizzle!). The woman working at the front was very nice. The takeout is packaged well. Broth in cup bagged, with toppings in takeout bowl. Perfect for my outings.
I will be back

The service staff are friendly and the rice noodles are delicious, but I think the fried chicken wings are average.
The air-conditioning in the room is not enough, so the food is very hot. This is the biggest disadvantage.

I’ve been going to Basil Viet Kitchen for the past year, and I’m always supremely satisfied with the quality and taste of my orders. I often order pho to go, and the way they package your meal is like no other. They put all the noodles and meat in a microwaveable bowl with a lid, keep the broth separate in a soup container, and give you enough bean sprouts to start a bean farm. I usually get the large, which gives me enough food for two meals. In the past I’ve gotten the chicken pho which is always delicious. My main critique with pho places is always that the meat can easily be too dry and tough, but the chickens always been good. This time I ordered the steak and meatball pho, as I hadn’t had it before and wanted to give it a try so give a well rounded review of the pho here. I usually don’t actually like beef pho that much, but this ended up thing my favorite meal I’ve gotten here! It was a while ago, but I’ve also had the Pad Thai and it was pretty good.
TLDR: Fave pho in U district

I had pad prik khing gai w/rice. I gave it three stars bc it tasted like Thai & Vietnamese and I’m not sure if it’s a Vietnamese or Thai dish. It was pretty good though.

Great service. The pho is a bit sweet. Fried shrimp (vermicelli) was great.
