I usually order from Basilic Thai and have done so many times without incident. The food is generally good, and I almost always get the same order, including fresh spring rolls, which are basically my meal. This time I called in an order for pickup. The employee read my order back to me, including prawn fresh spring rolls. When we arrived to pick it up, we were told the fresh rolls were actually veggie only because prawns weren’t available that night. Disappointing, but we said that was fine. When we got home, we realized they weren’t fresh rolls at all—they were fried spring rolls, dripping with oil and honestly pretty nasty. I called the restaurant and explained that we had ordered fresh rolls. The girl on the phone tried to tell me otherwise and made it seem like I was mistaken. She then said that if I wanted the fresh rolls, I’d have to make another trip back and return the fried rolls. That didn’t sit right with me. This was their mistake, and the solution required me to spend more time and gas to fix it, with zero effort on their part to make things right—even after I clearly explained my disappointment. I worked in restaurants for 20 years and this lack of care trying to correct an order that was a servers error is unacceptable. The customer service was poor, and since the fresh rolls are my main meal, I was pretty upset. Because of how this was handled, I won’t be returning.

It’s so rare to find places where you can eat delicious food and have a nice conversation. Would recommend 10/10.

I am so sad I have to write this. I have been dining at basilic for 3 years and have always enjoyed the food and the employees but today’s experience cannot be disregarded. I had a DoorDash pickup and in my pad Thai I found not 1 but 2 strands of hair found in my food that was 100% not mine. I had to stop and request a refund from DoorDash. Looking at the recent reviews - it seems like they have gone downhill in the last couple months especially with food safety. If you look at their food safety score online they have scored “okay” for multiple food safety violations. I love supporting small business but based on recent reviews and my experience tonight I will not be coming back.

I ordered from this restaurant on doordash for delivery. Thai tea was great, big size too. There was something really weird in my noodles though, it was too hard to bite through and when I looked at it it seemed to be some type of paper that i was able to literally rip up. Would not recommend.

I've been going to Basilic for almost 4 years now and I can't imagine going anywhere else. I always get the Traditional Pad Thai and the house made ginger beer. The prices are great and the atmosphere is lovely.

My family ate at Basilic Thai on 11/17, and unfortunately we had a very concerning experience. Shortly after placing our order, I took my toddler to the restroom. An employee was in front of us wearing disposable gloves. She went into the stall, used the restroom, came out still wearing the same gloves, and then briefly washed the gloves instead of removing them and washing her hands properly. Disposable gloves are not meant to be washed, and the quick rinse did nothing to address the hygiene issue. She then headed straight back into the kitchen.
I emailed the restaurant to give them an opportunity to respond, but never received a reply. Even if the employee isn’t a cook, the perception and practice of washing gloved hands after using the restroom is extremely concerning. We had already ordered, otherwise we would have left.
The next morning, my toddler developed a GI illness that has lasted several days. While I can’t say for certain it was related, the timing made me think back to that incident and worry about the restaurant’s sanitation practices.
We also noticed the following day that the restaurant’s rating from what appeared to be a health or inspection board was posted at the very bottom corner of their door, placed low enough that it’s easy to miss.
I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and addresses these hygiene practices for the safety of their customers.

I really enjoyed the festive and cozy atmosphere in this neat old building, the server was friendly and attentive, there was calm jazz music playing softly in the background, and I was happy with the flavor of the Pad Thai.
The crab rangoons are out of this world! Made with real crab and taste amazing. The pad Thai with seafood was also very tasty and had a lot of seafood in it. Yummy!

I was immediately welcomed when I entered the restaurant, and thereon, attentively checked and waited on. I wasn't very hungry but knew I needed to eat, so based on the server's suggestion, I ordered ginger tofu. The vegetables and tofu were perfectly cooked to highlight their freshness. It was so good that I ate the entire dish and felt great as I left - satiated and nourished, but not too full.

I had the Pad Kee Mao at a spice level 4/5. It was fantastic, plenty of chicken, and plenty of vegetables. It just needed a little more heat which I easily added myself with their spice caddy. Delicious food that felt home cooked. I would definitely eat here again.
