My parents, and for the past 30 years, every one of us (their five children) have been buying their sausages. Especially popular were their wieners, knackwurst and their great Weisswurst.Very few German sausage sellers get Weisswurst done right, but Bavarian Meats did. Now the company has been sold. I have purchased this new company's products, knackwurst, weiners, bratwurst, and of course their Weisswurst. "They have been weighed and found wanting." In the Bible, this writing on the wall culminated in Belshazzar the king of Babylon having his life ended by God. Now, I am not a Bible freak, but this felt appropriate. I will be specific, Weisswurst must be white, with green bits of parsley embedded in the tender veal sausage. The casing should be tender as well. This is a traditional and popular Bavarian sausage and must not be trifled with. The New Bavarian Meats do not know how to create Knackwurst, Weisswurst or even their weiners are a far cry from the former company. There is something amiss here. Did the old company not pass their sausage formulas to the new company? Or did the new company think their own formulas are better. If the latter is the case, the new company is wrong. Please do not mess around with my Weisswurst. Alas, now I have to go to Vancouver BC for traditional Weisswurst. Woe is me, because as I am American, the Canadians won't let me in. In closing, Weisswurst, must be made with veal. Get it right, and I won't need to go to Vancouver BC.

My grandfather was a Master Butcher specializing in sausages and hams who emigrated to the US from Bavaria (Fechenbach: just downriver from Würzburg) in 1927. When he died, I thought that I would never taste his wonderful bockwurst again. I was wrong. They may read "weisswurst" on the package, but Bavarian Meats' version springs from the very same well! I shudder to imagine a life without them. No matter where you guys re-open, I will rush to your door to re-stock. (And don't forget a pile of knockwusrt ... and a few mettwurst ... and a nice, big chunk of blutzungenwurst, of course ...)

Fantastic (and authentic!) German sausages and other specialties, and always friendly staff.

This place is awesome! Everything is just so good. I get the "usual" and a pretzel to share. Their bread and bacon and sausage is the BEST. A beer with breakfast? Yes, please! This is definitely a "stuff-my-face-place" because I need to be rolled out on a furniture dolly when I'm done. I called and the message said they are closed. Unlike Lee N., I wait for Bavarian Meats to reopen with fork and knife in hand! Honestly, how loyal a customer can you be if you won't go back to a restaurant because it is closed during a pandemic shut down? What an outrage! It's too bad he wasted 1 hour driving to the waterfront, that only left him 23 hours to post rants on Nextdoor about children riding their bikes on the sidewalk.

I drove out to the shop to get some meats just to find out they are closed for renovation! And no reopen date! So I wasted a 1 hour round-trip drive and wasted money on parking FOR NOTHING!! They could of at least done a minor thing like ooo' I don't know...maybe POST THE CLOSURE ON THEIR WEBSITE!! They lost a loyal customer!

This place is awesome! I will miss it dearly. They used to give my dog a whole hotdog. Perhaps the best sausage I ever tasted. Awesome and friendly staff. Get the black Forrest ham too. They have breakfast that is amazing and a good deal. Often when crazy lines at Piroshky Piroshky, can still get fresh made to order food in less time. Really is a cool place with cool people. If I made a Seattle Food tour or a Pike Market tour, would have to be included.

Sorry that our desire to order food is inconvenient for you. My sister can't eat wheat and asked if she could order some meats al a carte and she was told abruptly "Yes, but it will cost you more just get a meal." My sister replied that she hates wasting foot that way and she was told that was her problem. The my sister started to ask if there was nondairy creamer and before she could get it out the woman there her hands out and said "Whatever's over there is what I've got." didn't even let her get the word out. We were the only people in the place and she got annoyed that we asked for a moment before we ordered. It was our first time being in there it's Pikes Places for goodness sake I am sure it is full of tourists. The bright spot is that the food was really good. The pretzel was baked to perfection and the pork belly skewer was AMAZING. We had 2 different types sausages both were superb. Coffee was good and strong.

We had breakfast there and weren't impressed. The food was sitting under a heat lamp and the chicken sausage had a weird aftertaste. We felt Uli's across the street had better sausage but Bavarian Meats had a better selection of specialty items. The guy behind us ordered the schnitzle and their plate looked much better so maybe it was just what we ordered. My husband is German and he was excited to look around this shop. They have lots of cute German and Austrian items. Nice shop overall.

I have two things to say. Meat cone, meat cone, meat cone being the first. The second being I wanted to buy some of the amazing mustard they served with the meat cone but they were all out. They sent me home with two side cups just to make me happy. Great shop, great people.

People walk in on this such cold and snowing day, that means they want your food! I had been there several times before, each time is almost the same, usually I don't give low star, but this time I have to! I don't understand how come this place can get so many good reviews?? Maybe there're not so many stores sell Germany sausages in Seattle. Can we just say hello at least?? The oldest lady with glasses, No hello here, But answer you " No" without any patience! The attitude is even colder than the weather! I don't appreciate the way you just want people hand in the money, That's not very nice.
