This place is great. I wish I had a place like this near my home in Illinois, because I would be there everyday.
On our trip to Seattle we stumbled upon this gem and found the whole vibe - for us, at least - to be comfortable and welcoming, with great music and attentive staff. Maybe not for everyone, but we REALLY loved Black Cat.
We met and talked with a variety of fun and interesting people - locals and otherwise - in there, and the overall experience was outstanding.

Food was so good. Big shoutout to cryptic kitchen for making solid impossible smash burgers, and the vegan cheese was pretty good too. My favorite detail is there’s no surcharge for plant based. Regular double smash, and Impossible smash same price!! I will be back

I've had a few really great nights here. The bartenders are smart and great at what they do. The feral fries are great. The vegetarian options are fan-friggin-tastic. I do love a good spam sandwich though, and theirs is the best in the city.

Awesome bar, great service, good food. Bartenders kicked butt. Not allowed to bring outside water in even though it is sealed. That was a little disappointing because I was going to take it to my hotel after, but I understand.
The bar manager is tweaking. She kicked my girlfriend and three of her friends on her birthday out for “doing coke in the bathroom.” Girls go to the bathroom together. That’s what they do. but unfortunately the barkeep has never had friends and doesn’t understand this. Really sad. :(

I bought three drinks for $21. Tipped $2 on the receipt. They charged me $51 which I was forced to dispute because the restaurant doesn’t have a phone number nor a website to reach out and I’m no longer in Seattle. The business needs an easier way to resolve conflicts.
