After reading all the positive reviews on Yelp, my hubs and I went to Bloom yesterday at around 12:30pm for some takeout but the place was closed. Lights were out. No sign on the door, nothing posted on their website or their Instagram. They're supposed to be open 11-3 on weekdays. Disappointed.

I love Bloom! I enjoy getting to choose your own meal. You pick a hot, cold, base and protein side. There are lots of choices like broccoli, sweet potato, cabbage, eggplant, lentils, rice, salmon, chicken, turkey and tofu. Their menu is always changing, but they offer lots of fresh delicious sides that are seasons nicely. I always feel healthy after eating a meal here. I only wish they were open later for dinner too!

Eating here made me feel proud of myself for having such a healthy lunch. We both got the land box and i like how many components there are to it! The chicken's so flavorful (reminds me of chipotle chicken in the best way with the smokier flavor) the multiple types of salad with different dressings giving different flavor profiles, and i dug out some sourdough from my fridge that went with it all perfectly. The only part I didn't like as much was the mushroom and collard greens but that was just due to a personal taste preference I know I have.

I love the concept behind this place, their food feels unique compared to other options in the area. I was also pleasantly surprised by the portion size, the box is much bigger than it seems in photos and made for a good meal. I enjoyed getting to try 6 different foods, my only complaint was that the seasoning could be a little more even. I got the turkey meatballs which were very salty and the grains were seemingly not seasoned at all. I guess that encourages you to mix the different components together but it still would've been better if they were all at an even level in my opinion.
