I really wanted to love this place, and I will probably come back when it's just me and another adult, but I don't recommend it if you've got tiny hungry humans.
Pros: The food was great! The atmosphere is fun inside. Everyone was friendly.
Cons: the small space inside meant they put 4 adults and 2 small kids at a 4 top, and it was incredibly cramped. It took almost an hour before our food came. Our server seemed like he was new, tried to squeeze behind a toddler carrying 3 bowls of hot soup (go around the other way where there is room?) and made a few mistakes on our order. We did not correct him because we were starving at that point. The latte was burnt.
Again, I want to try again under different circumstances, because there were some strong positives to this little neighborhood spot. Staying hopeful for next time!

Kid-friendliness: As far as I could see there was only one large table, so not a great option for big families, or groups with multiple kiddos.

Get there early or late or expect a wait. We arrived around 11:30 and had a 30 min wait. Great coffee and good food.

Great food - best biscuits anywhere. Just beware, they get crowded, so cook time to order can get long. Bring a book if alone or plan on a nice long conversation if with others.

Sam and Amanda are absolute legends at Both Ways cafe, especially during height of the busy, hectic brunch hours. Customer service is ten out of ten, and you can’t their original savory rolls! 100% would recommend!

Both Ways Cafe is a uniquely charming spot that instantly catches your attention with its retro style and welcoming atmosphere. The cafe offers a truly special and almost magical dining experience that is enhanced by its tasteful decor and cozy ambiance. The food here is not only delicious but also beautifully presented, featuring thoughtful touches like slices of melon and baby watermelon that add a burst of freshness and color to the plates.

The overall quality of the meals and the creativity in their presentation make dining at Both Ways Cafe a memorable event. Maybe we went at a bad time, but it was really loud and cramped and service took awhile. Also a ton of flies flying around and felt kind of dirty in there. Good hot mocha and biscuits though!

Sam, the owner, is a bad ass woman. She bakes all of her own cakes, biscuits, scones, treats, bread etc. from scratch, and it’s clear she is passionate about her food. I could taste it. We watched her knead her bread while we waited for our breakfast. So cool! This place is homey vibes with real, home cooked food made with love. It was nice to visit Seattle from the San Juan islands, where we’re used to good local food, and actually have some food that’s home cooked/baked with love, from scratch. Rare gem. Thanks Both Ways folks. Bless you.

Super cute spot located in a quiet neighborhood in south Seattle. The atmosphere was fun and inviting, and the staff were super fast and attentive. The food was delicious! Their homemade biscuits were the best! All around a great vibe, and I'll definitely be going back!

Great local spot for breakfast or lunch. The staff is friendly and the food is always cooked to perfection. Just visited Seattle for 4 days and ate there for two of them if that tells you anything. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal and to be treated like family.
