🌿 Review: Both Ways CafĂ© – Seattle’s Hidden Brunch Gem Near Seward Park

I wasn’t expecting to fall in love with brunch today — but Both Ways CafĂ© reminded me that food made with love still exists. đŸ„‚âœš

First of all, let’s talk about the mimosa. 🍊 One sip, and I knew this place understands balance — not just in flavor, but in generosity. While most restaurants pour like they’re rationing sunshine, Both Ways serves joy by the glass. This isn’t a splash of champagne; it’s a celebration. đŸŸ

The food? Honest, soulful, and cooked like someone actually cares how your morning started. I had the special — spam, garlic rice, and furikake eggs — and it transported me straight back to island mornings and comfort kitchens. The quiche had flavor (imagine that!), buttery crust, and warmth in every bite.

The dĂ©cor feels lived-in and loved: a neighborhood treasure full of nostalgia, where you half expect your favorite commercial jingle to start playing. It’s the kind of place that makes you pause, breathe, and remember that simple joy still has a seat at the table.

If you’re tired of overpriced brunches that forget the “soul” part — come here. You’ll leave with a full belly, a lighter heart, and the sense that kindness is still on the menu. 💛

I am feeling nostalgic for Both Ways Cafe! I used to go there all the time and I would always order the Dressed Home Fries and a side of bacon. Can’t beat that breakfast combo, or the warm customer service. This is a true Seattle gem. Cherish it, folks! If you move out of state, you will miss it!

I’m giving two starts instead of one because the guy working in the front was nice. But I’m giving two stars because we ordered our food, and wasted an hour waiting. Only to leave because we discovered that after an hour of waiting they haven’t even started on our order. We understand that the place was busy but I think it’s only proper to at least inform your customers that their food is going to be delayed or something like that. It’s too bad we couldn’t try their food because the reviews are amazing.

I’m really disappointed with this cafe after being a neighborhood staple for so long. The bakery and the food used to be amazing but looks like the restaurant has had a change of hands. The quality of the food and service have completely declined. We ordered the burgers, French toast and the breakfast burritos. Everything was mediocre and lacking taste. It took 45 min for the food to arrive. Stale fruit and a hint of fries. Poor hygiene apparent from the kitchen in the coming together of all dishes. It was an expensive meal and not worth it.

The atmosphere of this cafĂ© is very down to earth and inviting. The people behind the counter were wonderful, like being welcomed into someone's home by the whole family. I'm vegan, and they made me a special tofu scramble as a breakfast burrito. The chef approached me and asked if I had any special concerns about the ingredients that she added, and made a delicious breakfast burrito for me with a side of salsa. The cafĂ© itself is like an art gallery, worthy of it's own review, which they happily let me capture with my camera. I didn't expect to come out to Seattle and eat anything, but when I saw their shop I knew I had to check it out.. and I'm so glad that I did. I would 1,000% return here with my husband for breakfast sometime 😋

Overpriced for crappy food, long wait time after ordering, waitress messed up the whole order because she didn't write anything down. Would not recommend at all!! And the breads in the glass box don't
have a cover in the back I seen flies on the cinnamon rolls.

Took 30 minutes to get eggs and potatoes. The place looks old and dirty. Poor service, overpriced for the mediocre food that’s being served. 0/10 recommend.

Fast service, great food, kinky atmosphere. The kind of place you want to come back to time and time again. This was my first stop there with a number of residents from a West Seattle retirement home on the way to see Blue Angel's morning practice. Not going to tell you our vantage point, but it was just a few blocks away. I'll be bringing a bus load back first Thursday in August. You'll love this place.
