The wine was good, but unfortunately the happy hour value was very disappointing. For $16, we didn’t even get three small pieces of cheese , definitely not worth it. I’d rather pay full price and have something enjoyable to pair with my glass of wine.

Since patio was closed for the season (?), we were packed into their small main room extremely close to other tables. A couple on one side of us talked so loudly that my friend and I could not carry on a conversation.
Great food but hard to enjoy our time there due to overcrowding.

Super charming wine bar located in the heart of Madrona in a very cute old house. The seating options are diverse - outside on the patio, back garden, indoor area, bar, or perch yourself on the front porch to watch the world go by. They have such a beautiful space with a comfy homey feel, and a thoughtful, well-curated wine list. It was so much fun sitting out in their little garden patio with a glass of sparkling rosé, which was delicious. I also tried their orange wines and a glass of their frosé. Service here was great! Megan was extremely helpful and lovely. She attended to the entire patio and garden with ease, suggesting different wines everyone would like based on their personal tastes, and made the whole experience feel special. Loved the seasonal burrata, and the house mac ‘n’ cheese is ultimate comfort food. I highly recommend this place - ask for Megan! It’s such a nice neighborhood spot and great choice if you love wine.

Great atmosphere and lovely location

For how well regarded Bottlehouse is, there seems to be a major disconnect between how it is perceived and the actual experience.

Our group of 3 was seated outside and while the ambience was nice, the rest of the experience was terrible.

The service took FOREVER. They were uninterested and we literally sitting at another table drinking wine and chatting. It took like almost 15 min to get someone to take our order and had to literally find someone to bring our check because they never came back to our table.

The food and drink was the definition of mid. Burrata was very mediocre and the prosciutto was old and crusty. The red wine was table wine grade. Plus 3 drinks and the burrata was $100 with tip and not worth it.

We had planned on getting dinner but after the terrible service and mediocre food/drink we closed out and went elsewhere for the rest of the night.

Extremely disappointing yet seems to be a common experience based on the other recent reviews. Ownership needs to rethink their front of house staff from top to bottom.

Super cute on the patio but the service leaves something to be desired and the food is very overpriced. Also, planning an event here will give you a headache.

The food was great. The wine experience was horrible.
Started with them not paying attention to what they are serving: a fly in the wine and a big piece of dirt in the spritz- they fixed both when we asked.
The Rescaña was not potable, was one of the worst (unexpired) wines I’ve tried in my life. The spritz was flatter than tap water. Zero fizz.

On the other hand, the food was excellent.
Not sure how these things can happen at the same time. Maybe they should review their alcohol recommendations and serving methods.

Ambience and atmosphere seemed really lovely but had an odd service experience — waited 45 minutes outside before calling it a day (host had told us 30 minutes on the longer end, but no one quite checked in on us either, and the service felt really aloof) in the end it felt like we spent a lot of money to sit on the bench outside their location.

I think it’s probably just slightly a little too busy / disorganized, but left very disappointed with the experience after some high hopes.

I don't look forward to leaving negative reviews but I felt strongly about this experience that it would be a disservice if I didn't address it. *Spoiler alert: long story/rant ahead.

When I went for my first time. It was on a hot day this past June.
Me and my partner thought we'd go and treat ourselves to a nice outing. Since I've always wanted to try this place due to hearing a bunch of good things from some colleagues. We set our eyes on a late lunch/ early dinner at Bottle House.

Came in optimistic especially after being seated right away in their outdoor patio section. We were off to a great start, until it turned into a lot of waiting. We gave the benefit of the doubt assuming they were just busy. It wasn't until we saw a few groups that got seated after us get their order taken before us that we decided to flag someone down. Once we did, we were told to wait a few more moments because another group had to be checked on before we could get our orders taken.

Surprisingly we were still in good spirits. We ordered our drinks, as well as our food so we could be set. Then afterwards our drinks came. This is where my experience spiraled down.

I picked up my wine glass filled with this Bordeaux wine that I was excited to try. Pressed the rim against my lip and took my sip. It hit me like a hot flash. The temperature of this wine was warmer than warm. It also wasn't just my wine but my partners's as well. So we managed to get a servers attention, voiced our concern and asked if we could order a different drink. I decided to go with a cocktail and my partner decided to order the Chardonnay.

When they dropped off our new drinks, they happened to be the wrong drinks. What had happened was they were a different tables drinks and when we flagged the same server down. they already seemed annoyed that we were gonna address a discrepancy. We eventually got the right drinks then our food. At that point we just wanted to drink our drinks and finish our food.

I enjoyed the food flavor wise, but I wasn't satisfied with the amount of food for the price I paid. If it was one of the better things I ate in my life I would be happy with paying however much for the amount of food I got. Sadly that wasn't the case.
White wine was chilled so it was good and I liked the Chardonnay. The old fashion wasn't akin to a typical old fashion. It was more like a boulevardier, not as whiskey forward, but more alcoholic. Not my favorite old fashion

All in all this review was geared towards service, and quality of the drinks. Especially if you're supposed to be known for the variety of wines you serve. I would hope you can serve them at a decent temperature. Based off this experience alone, I wouldn't personally suggest them if someone was looking for a recommendation.

I absolutely hate to leave negative reviews but this place charges a 5% surcharge “for the house” that’s separate from the tip. If they wanted to do this, they should just raise prices by 5% vs getting a surprise on your bill when it’s too late.
Came for happy hour and they were out of a few items with no substitutes available. The happy hour charcuterie was comically small for $16. The bbq chicken main course was dry and smaller than the palm of my hand.
If you go, sit outside for the fun atmosphere at least to make it worth it. All in all, we spent $189 and came home still hungry.

Olivia Kaylen!! So sweet so kind!! Their costumer service and work ethic is very vibrant and noticeable!! They work hard and care about their tables, always hustling and keeping a positive environment for wine house. Very impressed🤍
