BoxBar has been on our list of vegan places to try for forever and a day. We made it out that way this weekend and our experience lived up to everything we've heard about them!! The pasta was amazingly tender, cooked to perfection. There was a lot of flavor and depth in each bite, more of a deliciously earthy mac and cheese as opposed to maybe a velveety smooth creamy type. The Jalapeño poppers were amazing. I've always associated poppers with a crusted fried topping but these were bold, going in a different direction. The jalapeños were fresh and soft to the bite, easy to cut with the side of a fork, loaded with components such as cashew cheddar, crema, avocado sauce, sweet pickled jalapeños, pico and cabbage slaw - all coming together perfectly in each bite (i'm utilizing their menu description). For the main dish, Sandi ordered the "Smokey Barbecue" which came with a complimentary side of chips and I ordered the Portobello French Dip and upgraded my side to a Side Salad for an extra $4. Each dish, every bite was delicious, even something as simple as a side salad was elevated with their Ginger Tahini dressing. Dipping the Portobello Sandwich into the Dip was just .. magical. We also both opted for the same drink, South Park Mule. The drink was legit, in addition to tasting great, I actually had a buzz as well .. indicating to me they didn't skimp on the adult juice 🙂 Their food is amazing across the board and there's so much more to go back and try! Definitely worth the trip!!

We don’t eat out much but when we do this is our top choice (and it’s in our neighborhood!) It’s a bar (so 21+) but big windows up front and a pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff, generously portioned sandwiches and salads (we get enough for lunch the next day) Good cocktails and excellent vegan Mac and “cheese.” 100% queer friendly is ya bonus. They have trivia night and such if you want more social contact; we’re old and prefer the quieter week nights 😉

This was my first time at this vegan restaurant....for take out, I ordered the Portobello French dip sandwich, which was absolutely flavorful, in a herby sort of way, and the Buffalo cauliflower mac n cheese, which had a nice kick to it. I was happy to know that WS has a dedicated vegan restaurant serving dishes with amazing flavors, without having to Capitol Hill or elsewhere in Seattle.

I love this place! Delicious food and friendly staff. Great staples - shout out lentil nachos, kale caesar, tblta, and smokey barbecue sandwich! Yummy rotating dishes too. Good happy hour. I love that they host community events: drag shows, art markets, and food vendor tables. So fun!

Our table of 8 all had wonderful dishes. The seasonings, techniques and presentations were all on point. Drinks from the bar were really great as well. Best meal we had in Seattle!

Cute place, delicious food. Not many gluten free substitution options, but a sufficient amount of dishes were already gluten free.

My husband and I went there for our anniversary! Cute place, not like a cafeteria. Had nice tables & fresh flowers on each table. Nice music was playing. Our server was friendly and helpful with the all vegan menu. We ordered the nachos which were huge, the mac n cheese

If you are reading this, do not hesitate to eat here. It blew us away. We got the whipped feta and nachos for apps, and they were both drool worthy. I got the Cobb-ish salad, and I’m not joking…this is the best salad I’ve ever eaten. The basil is shredded and perfectly dispersed, tempeh was seasoned so well, the dressing is incredible, and the deviled potato was like a cherry on top. All the flavors perfectly compliment each other. And the space is cool, music is a vibe, and our server was great. He waited until we were done with our apps before he brought out our mains. Truly a well done restaurant. We’ll be back often!

The nachos did not disappoint! Since I have a sensitivity to dairy, I was thrilled to have a cheesy meal that didn't hurt my tummy!
The staff are friendly and very laid back. Great spot for a date or for a meeting.

They market this place as being a cocktail bar. It wasn’t until we got there that we realize that they feature boxed wines. Also, they couldn’t make any of the cocktails that we wanted for some reason.

The food, however, is absolutely over the top good

This is a 10/10 west Seattle staple. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu, the vibe is chill, laid back and the service is always personable and friendly. The food is delicious and creative. I recommend the kale Caesar, lentil nachos, curry ramen, portobello French dip and the chocolate mousse! The drinks are vegan too (I never knew Aquafaba was a thing! Try the Pink Ruby and find out for yourself).

What i tried was gd but tbh im not impressed by the srvc at all, def feel like i overtipped--which i kno is on me/i shldnt have but i had put the cash on the counter ahead n was a lil shocked by being handed a messy 2go cup aftr ab a 10-15 min wait; anything longer than evn 5 mins is absolutely sub-standard for a menu item thats alrdy made n all u hav2 do is throw some in a 2go cup vs preparing something 2 order ESP / evn worse whn its dead AND there r 3 ppl behind the counter, id hate2 c how they cld possibly handle a bz peak time...smh...def not a gd 1st impression, plenty of othr vegan options... being vegan & rainbow friendly just isnt enough2 hold up2 all the competition in a city like seattle where so many other places r too but offer a way better experience overall..so ill keep trying new places but not this1 agn n b returning2 & recommending other local favs instead.
