Really expensive for what it is. The food is fine, nothing special, but they're charging premium prices because they're the only game in town. Their hours are also really inconsistent, so they're kind of sitting themselves in the foot here. The vegan breakfast was fine, but honestly, this is why Portland blows us out of the water for vegan food. Updated from previous review on 2025-06-11

More people need to know about this place!!! I tried the banh mi, a side soup, and the nachos. I thought I would take some home, but it was too good not to eat all right there. Absolutely love this place, I can’t wait to try more from here!

Cute joint! Friendly staff. They def have a vibe and atmosphere. Drinks are straightforward and unpretentious (and not a St Germaine's crutch in sight!). We had the Po' Boy, mac n cheese, jalapeño "poppers". The poppers aren't what we all think of as the regular things at other bars or the frozen case. Mac n cheese could use some flavor texture work; menu said it was penne but we got elbows and tbh elbows are always better. Cheese topping was clunky and flavorless. Po' Boy had AWESOME flavors, def the star of the menu. #Veganuary Updated from previous review on 2025-01-22

Drove across town to discover they are closed with no notice or information posted online. All sources say they are open on Sunday. There is no information on the front door either. Very displeased with this lack of communication.

The food was great and the waiter was exceptional! He was thoughtful and helped me navigate the menu given my celiac disease. Really appreciated him! He even checked the package on the artichoke to make sure it was gf and actually brought it to me to check as well.

Afaik, this is the only Seattle joint serving up biscuits w/cashew gravy + that’s huge for a mushroom hater like me. Paired w/collards?! Be still, my heart. I’m also in love w/their sandwiches, tho I think it’s weird to serve them w/potato chips at this price point. I always upgrade to soup, which makes it a $20 meal.

The mac + cheese tastes like 2003 to me, but my partner likes it, so maybe you will too?

My wife and I just had a very nice dinner at Box Bar. We don’t get to WS often but decided to head that way specifically based off reviews we read here. We had the kale cesar, mac n cheese, and portobello French dip. We enjoyed all three of them. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We will definitely be back. Thanks for a great meal.
