I love the atmosphere and the food and service is good, but I don’t like the way the restaurant chooses to gouge the customer by adding a fine print 5% surcharge to the bill, and THEN adding a 20% tip on top of the subtotal with the surcharge. Seriously, just show the menu prices with the surcharge and stop the sneaky tactics on consumers. I want to tip my wait staff directly and want honest pricing. This just leaves a bad taste.
This review pertains to a private event we booked at Brimmer & Heeltap. The event was for a college in the midwest to meet with alumni in Seattle. Emma was great to work with to plan our event, especially when our registration exceeded our expectations. We were very amused by the big chonk of bread they served us, and we were confused at first about the lack of butter. But then we took a bite and realized the butter is definitely in the bread already.
