I just went to Lago’s page to get to their website and was shocked at 4.5 rating! Cafe Lago is one of my favorite restaurants in Seattle and consistently has some of the best service and just an overall wonderful dining experience every time. I have come yearly for my birthday for at least the last 5 years and every time the food and atmosphere are ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. I love all the dishes but their fall pastas are my fave. Not to mention the old school neon sign is a sight for sore eyes when in traffic on 24th. Can’t wait to head to dinner there next month.

Lovely neighborhood spot with fresh pasta & a beautiful ambiance. We tried the seasonal ravioli and fettuccini with meatballs, as well as the seasonal salad.

Given other reviews and all the hype, I had really high expectations for this dinner out at Cafe Lago. The ambience definitely came through and I enjoyed being in the space. The cocktails are fantastic, and very well crafted. It was the service and the food that did not meet expectations. I thought it was just good though, just not fantastic. We had the “house made sourdough” bread starter which did not taste house made but rather like processed bread. The lasagna was subtly flavored and good but almost too bland. My husband really enjoyed his fettuccine though. I don’t know if the slow, odd service put us off but the whole experience just didn’t leave us feeling like it was anything special or that we were treated as if the restaurant even cared if we were there. With so many wonderful options in Seattle, no restaurant can afford to leave people feeling the way we did when we left…even if they have all the hype that Cafe Lago does. I gave it four stars though in recognition that the food was good….but it is not special and the service is lacking for sure. May try it again but we will see.

My husband and I had a date night here last night. Our server was attentive and the food was deliciously homemade. This is a great neighborhood spot.

Disappointing...Limited choices. More variety needed. Almost everything had red sauce and it looks like it is turning vegetarian. We have been to this restaurant many times and liked it in the past. The menu needs more variety.

This place is grade A. Somehow it feels appropriate to come here both to celebrate a graduation or anniversary, or to have a casual hang with friends and family over a great meal. Prices are good, service is great, food is remarkable.

As someone who truly appreciates Italian cuisine, particularly pasta, I chose this restaurant for my birthday dinner with high expectations. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t quite meet my hopes.

I ordered the meatball pasta, and while the noodles had a nice texture and were cooked well, the overall dish fell short of expectations. The meatballs had a processed quality that reminded me of frozen options, and the tomato sauce tasted quite basic. Given the price point, I felt the pasta didn’t deliver the authentic Italian flavors I was hoping for.

However, I must highlight that their pizza was genuinely excellent - perfectly baked with great flavor balance and wonderful texture. The kitchen clearly has strong pizza-making skills.

For fellow pasta enthusiasts, I’d suggest exploring other options, but if you’re a pizza lover, this place is definitely worth a visit. The restaurant has potential, and I hope they can bring the same quality they achieve with their pizza to their pasta dishes

Pizza was burnt pretty badly. The unburnt pieces were pretty good though.

We just had an outstanding dinner at Cafe Lago! I’ve lived in Seattle for 20 years and am a little embarrassed that this is my first time dining at such a great spot. The ambiance is charming, the service was on point, and the food was absolutely fabulous. Standout dishes for us were the Pomodori al Forno (slow roasted tomato and goat cheese crostini) and the cheese ravioli (with caramelized onion, chive butter and balsamic). But really, everything our group of 6 ordered was amazing. Thank you for a wonderful family dinner!
