I came here on 2/7/25 for an interview, first time ever on the west coast. I tried other spots like Jakes, Ugly Mug, and Cafe Allegro but this place was my reliable favorite to get me through my anxiety ridden interviews. The staff was friendly and bantering with me, which eased my nerves a lot. Overall relaxing spot with friendly staff and customers. If I move here, it'll be my go to spot.

Food was good. Tall dude and especially older gentleman had horrible customer service.

Nice warm atmosphere, music just loud enough to add to the ambient noise. Maybe the best latte I've had, incredibly creamy. The dessert was very tasty too 😋

I visited Solstice on 2/24/25. I purchased a 16 oz latte and a bacon breakfast burrito. I was pleased with the quality of the latte however the size and taste of the burrito was lackluster considering the cost was $8.25, categorically too expensive for the value offered.

This place is really fun — the outside doesn’t seem like it, but the vibe inside is super chill. Looks like it was an old bar, turned coffee shop, with an old bar to sit at, a sofa, and lots of spots for laptop work. My fave is the 30 year old cash register! Been here since it opened and has every transaction ever made on it. (But yes, you can still pay with your phone.) the only down side is the internet connection is not great.

Damn good turkey panini and great tea. Can’t post pictures because I ate it too fast.

Older style U district coffee shop. Lots of syrups if that’s your thing!
Cafe Solstice has consistently made me the best and most high quality drinks out of any other cafe in U District. Their baristas are both kind and experienced (my lattes & cappuccinos come out PERFECT every time). The atmosphere is also wonderful and homey. love love love this place

Wowowow writing this at Cafe Solstice as we speak. Got an iced vanilla latte like I do at any other cafe but you knowwww they have that in house syrup. Could tell the second that delectable drop of drink touched my tongue. Plus good oldies music and cozy atmosphere ☕️🪑🍞🕰️

OK hear me out. I dont even like to go places, okay? My house and my living room are my favorite places to be, legit. However, I currently still have to leave my house to work. And this cafe is on my way. When I tell you the the vibe in here is calm and chill and literally so thick it hangs in the air like coastal fog. Tones play over the speakers in the mornings and the lights are dim yet, everything is visible. The baristas are awesome. The food is awesome. The coffee is even better.
Seriously the only thing that could make this cafe better is if they opened at 6 and not 630. Go to cafe solstice. Just sit there. It's a balm for your weariness. Trust.
Update: Still fabulous. Just go here for coffee. The baristas are awesome

Modest, quaint and cozy coffee shop, especially during the Seattle rain. Comfort foods were also great.
reliably great drip coffee at a hard to beat price
Ordered dirty chai it was in a glass cup and it burned me it was plain other than the cinnamon. Also the barista was not the nicest she didn’t greet me until I was at the front and I asked her questions and she gave me attitude.

There is nothing more gross than a warm latte. I have 5 years of experience working as a barista, so I understand the ins and outs of making a good coffee. Not steaming the milk long enough is lazy work and lacks attention to detail. If you charge $6-7 a coffee, please make sure the milk is steamed properly. As of now, this mistake has lost my business.

Solstice has an amazing vibe to it. Whether just popping in for a quick drink, catching a breather on the patio, or getting some work done, this spot has all that you could hope for in a cafe! They have some cool local art on display/for sale. They also used to have some live music back in the day, before COVID when hours were longer into the night. The staff is incredibly friendly and often times have great music taste. Loved this place for ten years now, please never leave, thank you!!
