The large bowl was small... and mostly filled with white rice. The sauce was very good, though.
Portions are TINY. Sooooo tiny. Good, but like maybe 2 bites of food. The small bowl would not be enough to satisfy a very small child. Maybe 1/4 cup of rice in the small bowl - and that’s a generous estimate.
Casual eatery that serves bowls, soups and wraps. The dishes could be customized to make them vegetarian friendly or plant based. Ordered a Large Smoky Bowl for lunch. As mentioned in other reviews, the portions are indeed small but the ingredients seemed fresh and healthy. Wasn't a filling meal which wasn't what I was expecting given that it was supposed to be a large bowl. There's indoor as well as outdoor seating and the staff is courteous.
I am from Eugene so I've been eating at Yumm! Cafe since they opened 16 years ago. The food in Eugene is amazing. I now live in Seattle and was excited to see this location open. Sadly, they have some work to do. The bowls are way more expensive than they are in Eugene...up to $3 more if you get a small. I get that rent is more expensive in Seattle...overhead in general. I might not be bothered by the price if the food was actually good. When you make food like this you have to get every item right. Every time I have tried this location the rice is so overcooked that it's mush. It's really gross. The last two times I have had to ask for a side of Yumm! sauce because there is almost none on there. My friend also had to request some because it looked like they forgot it altogether on her order. Also, in Eugene they give you a heaping portion...this location does not. That alone will be the end of this location if they don't correct it. Beans and rice are not expensive items. The other issue is they are perpetually understaffed. The last time I went in the person behind the register was also making the food. If the owner doesn't want to staff the back because they are worried about overhead then the owner needs to be in there preparing food. I am willing to give them one more chance but after that I will just wait until I go to Eugene and in the meantime make my Yumm! bowls at home.
Portland cafe yumm is absolutely amazing! I was shocked to see my favorite place to eat be so disappointing in seattle. The portion is tiny and prices are not worth it. Also doesn’t help when your employees aren’t very friendly. Should’ve read the comments first, it would’ve saved me $14 on a “medium” bowl.

Shockingly small portions!!! I ordered a Large bowl as I was hungry. It came in a tiny, shallow bowl. Portion size appropriate for a 6 year old.Taste was good. Way too expensive for what you get, felt like a total rip-off.
First time here and the only one! Small portion. Even people laugh when they learned about the salad bowl. The southwest salad supposed have green leaf and this one has rice...haha sorry is not a salad.
Food is amazing and its my fave place to goBut for the first time ever at 7:08 (22 min before closing) they refused to take any orders and after not eating any food all day this was devastating. A regular, local customer denied service well before an appropriate cut off.Just skip it if you are in a pinch.Businesses are businesses and this was a reminder that compassion runs in short supply sometimes.
I stopped to eat here because I was starving from walking around all day. I ordered chips and a large Smoky Bowl, which wasn't very large. It tasted fine until I got to the bottom, where the brown rice, sour cream, and sauce combined into a truly nauseating flavor and texture. I couldn't finish it. Another worker meanly addressed the cashier while she was taking my order; I did not appreciate his attitude. My order totaled $24. For that much, I would've rather gotten Chipotle.

Incredibly overpriced (and small) bowl of slop that I couldn't even finish, despite my best efforts to get my money's worth. I'm also about 90% certain ALL ingredients are vegan, including the "cheese," sour cream and chicken, despite that not being said on the menu anywhere. Tasted horrid, and I usually pride myself on having a palette that can eat just about anything. Worst thing I've had in downtown Seattle all week, by a mile.
The whole place smelled strange, unpleasant, and overwhelming. The food portions were small and the bowls were too saucy. The yumm sauce was not pleasant and had a confusing blend of flavors. The combination of ingredients beyond the sauce brought nothing unique and could easily be put together at home.
Staff did their best with coworkers calling in sick.Staff hadn’t cleaned the soda fountain in the previous night. So we had paid for drinks but didn’t get them or compensation.Bowels where a mix of luke warm and cold. Felt unsafe to eat it so my group cut their losses and we left not eating much of it.Filled out their feedback form only to let to not submit due to “unknown error” so you get a 1 star google review.
They charged me 12 dollars for a bowl smaller than a hand. Ridiculous.
First time at Cafe Yumm. Had the Hot & Spicy Bowl with chicken. This bowl was great with jasmine rice, red beans, avocados, cilantro, yuumy sauce, and jelopeno salsa. Super fresh and tasty. They have other bowls and wraps that I haven’t tried. A nice find in downtown Seattle.
