Fancy Seattle restaurant. Short rib was excellent. View from the upper room conference room to Lake Union is next to amazing and making it a trip worthwhile just for that !

Had dinner here tonight and I can honestly say the food & service were great. The staff was professional and did an excellent job explaining each course for us.
We began with an amuse bouche that was a nice way to start. That was followed by the bread course which turned out to be quite a lot of food - bread, butter, artichoke dip & rhubarb & honey dip. After that we had the Canlis salad (had to order that!). That was followed by the first course of “corn” that was basically a hamachi dish. Next came the halibut (yum!) and lastly was a peach dessert.
My only complaint was the pacing of food. We waited for what I would consider extremely long times between each course. We were seated at 6:15 and walked out at 9:15. Three hours for a three course meal!
Would I go back? For sure. The food is great, the staff is great and the views are world class.

Absolutely delicious. I have no negative things to say. We sat in the special upstairs private room and it was gorgeous. The food was excellent and our server worked with very carefully around some fairly complex dietary restrictions. The Canlis salad was groundbreaking! Mint in a salad? Yes! Lovely evening.

The food is terrible, tasteless, the halibut was terrible. Spent 800 dollars for 2 people and it was terrible. We also got the oyster which was very good but separate from the prefix menu. The drinks were also good. The service also good. However not worth the price as the actual prefix menu was tasteless. I would never recommend this place or come back

The service is very good. But if you looking for a tasting menu then this restaurant is not good. The 1st for I have is deep fried potatoes chip they cook with old oil. And the bread they serve also too much oil.

Ashton is an amazing young man who took great care of us! The food and the service was beyond exceptional! I'll be sure to make a reservation and come back when we visit Seattle again and I'll be sure to ask to have Ashton wait on us.

I'm really torn on this one... this is without a doubt, one of the most beautiful restaurants I've ever been in. But lack of execution on food and service keep this from being a top notch experience. It has so much potential and with some minor tweaks it could be (mich) star worthy. The drinks to start and piano were both on point and an amazing start to our evening. The opening course was spot on perfect. I ordered the pork belly app, beef entree and strawberry (olive oil) dessert. Pork belly was perfectly cooked and had a quite complex flavor profile and texture. Bread course was amazing. However the main - beef, called a denver cut was extremely tough. Flavor was amazing, but knife struggled to cut the beef and it was even harder to chew. 2 at our table had this and both were very tough. Neither finished the entree and no-one asked how it was or why. The potatoes with salmon were offensive at best as a side an no one at our table could eat them. Very strong fishy flavor and they were left as uneaten. Again - no question as to why. 2 other entrees were very good - the halibut was a stand out as far as flavor. We asked for coffee prior to dessert and it was only delivered to 3 of the 4 at dinner and coffee quality was sub par. Especially for Seattle...Desserts were all good and everyone was pleased with this course. Blueberry and olive oil desserts were decadent and exceeded expectations. Of note - the som was condescending to one of our guests and it was noted to head server.
So for a restaurant with such potential, they are lacking in a few key areas. Hopefully someone gets a handle on the obvious shortcomings and delivers on the potential this place has.

Annoying that they don’t reschedule. You have to book months ahead and they don’t even send the notification about upcoming appointments and just collect the deposit 🙁

We recently dined at Canlis to celebrate a birthday. The experience overall was highly disappointing. Despite making the reservation as far in advance as possible and informing the restaurant of the celebratory occasion of our visit, we were seated in a corner outside of the main dining room. My view was of a wall that staff stood against. We let the restaurant know at the time of booking of my dietary restriction (pescatarian) and had a long chat confirming this with the server. We ordered the same first course, tuna. I was brought a pork belly dish. The server took the pork away and left the other plate of tuna. 20 minutes later, a second plate of tuna arrives, the first now cold. The 2nd plate was dropped with no explanation. A while later the server came by to apologize without any offer to adjust the bill. During the rest of the meal all we could hear was a server for the table behind us catering to every need while we felt as though we might as well be in the closet. After the giant bill arrived and was paid, a valet almost ran us over. We will not be back and do not recommend.

Extremely over priced. You are paying for the service … NOT THE FOOD.
We had a great dinner here couple of weeks ago. Lucky were able to get a sit beside the piano without a reservation. The service staff are excellent and were kind enough to offer us the set menu. However, I’d still suggest making a reservation as they said this doesn’t happen unless someone from the reservation backs out.
Our favourite dishes for the night was the pork belly, kalbi beef, and the citrus parfait. The rest was average tbh. They also serve vegetarian set menu for our in-law.
Cocktail drinks and wine are well done. Ambiance is just the best one I’ve been to in Seattle. I would recommend this place without a doubt! Service parking is available and these guys are the best.
