Incredible service!! So great for a special occasion. Felt like Michelin star quality. The salad lived up to the hype and the pork belly was really yummy. Nathan was a terrific server. We had an amazing birthday dinner
Canlis is one of those places that lives up to the hype — upscale, timeless, and perfect for special nights. Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or just celebrating life, the tasting menu was unforgettable. Every course? Devoured. The view? Unreal. The staff? Impeccably professional. This iconic family-run spot has been part of Seattle for generations..
If you’re in town — even for a day — make this your splurge dinner. Worth every moment.
fine dining with an amazing view.

Beautiful view, odd service and experience.
Chips were not a good start and very off.
Firstly, the setting was such a beautiful space, it felt like a Frank Lloyd Wright building, but the views of Lake Union took it to another level.
The food was impeccable, especially the Pea Flan, which was such a surprise. As you'd expect with a restaurant of this caliber the service was phenomenal.
Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to impress someone or for a special occasion.
No enforcement of dress code. A special night for us and they allowed Jeans, exercise clothes in.
Beautiful spot but it continues to go downhill so much it’s hardly worth it for anytime now.
Canlis is our special place, but you can go there too :) The service is immaculate (easy to eat according to allergies- they are so attentive), the food (ever- changing, interesting set course menu) is delicious and gorgeous, the view is like none-other in Seattle, and the vibes are CLASSY. Canlis was my grandparents favorite and I was excited when they went there as a kid, even if we didn't go because they brought me home the mints! My parents had their engagement party here and it will always be our most special special occasion place ❤️
Amazing culinary experience! Great food, great wine, great service. And getting photo-bombed by Aisha Ibrahim, executive chef extraordinaire, was an added bonus! Thanks for making my wife’s birthday so special. :-)

Sadly, I just didn’t love the menu offerings when it was time for our reservation. Unfortunately, to snag a reservation you really have to be on it to even get one. The menu changes often so there’s no way to know in advance if it’s a menu you’re interested in or not. We tried a couple times to get a reservation for a menu we were really interested in but never could. So that was pretty disappointing. I didn’t like any of the food items from the menu but loved all the amuse-bouche items. BUT for the price you should love the menu items. For example, sablefish was an item and while cooked really well, it was soooo very fishy it was off putting. It was wrapped in cabbage that was bland and so was the weird brown grainy sauce with it. I was also surprised that the wagyu was so tough and hard to eat. Yes, I know this is a fattier cut but usually it melts in your mouth! The service is absolutely amazing, though!

Walked in and sat at the bar for the walk in lounge menu.
- scallop toast was so buttery and delicious
- lamb Tsukune was flavorful as well
- tempera cod was delicately fried but a little bland
- canlis burger was decently sized and juicy but not fell a little short of expectations
The restaurant overall has an amazing view of the city though. Good vibes.

Moving from Seattle and wanted to have one last epic dinner before I left. Camille ( server ) and the rest of the staff are absolutely top notch. From the moment you step in they go above and beyond to treat you like a VIP. Bartender knew I was moving and gave me a pour of amazing bourbon. Every course and snack were 10/10. The one thing that did shock me, from previous visits years ago, was the lack of people adhering to or enforcement of dress code for me. So many t shirts/jeans/casual wear. Curious what changed but didn't take away from a memorable evening.
