Very overpriced for simple bean dishes that I can very very easily make at home. The combo meal was the only way to afford it but the tacos were not good. At all.

Astir, formally Capitol Cider is an incredible gluten free experience! They have a cute main restaurant, Ton the executive chef is so lovely and Carson, Harper, Jen, Ben, Rich and Jon are so great with events ~ their downstairs event space is lovely for corporate holiday/company and just fun little events!

This place was incredible! My husband has celiac and we were visiting from out of town and a/stir was a such a blessing! There was so much for my husband to eat AND it was delicious! Would come here again anytime we are in town and will be dreaming of the lamb burger till we do!

Such a cool spot in a fun neighborhood. The menu has a wide variety of fun options to enjoy so be sure to go there hungry! Staff was friendly & food was delicious. Hard to even believe it was gluten free!

Cheese curds were amazing and the chicken sandwich was really flavorful. The lobster mac was not good. It was dry and had a canned fish smell even though the lobster didn't look canned.

Terrible service. Our waiter couldn’t remember if he’d taken our order or not. I didn’t get my beer until after my appetizer came out and I had to flag down the hostess to get it. Then, after eating, we waited for the waiter to come back to clear our plates. This probably took about 25 minutes. We asked for the check, and then he proceeded to fold towels in the back for another 30 minutes. The bartender came over and handed us our check finally, but then didn’t come back for the check for another 15 minutes. It took longer to get our check than it did for my drink to be forgotten, our appetizer, and our food to come out. Our waiter never checked up on us once we received our food and so we were out of water within the first 20 minutes of our visit. Food was great, cheese curds were fantastic but I wont be back. Paid for the food, not the service that’s for sure.

My wife and I met up with some friends here for dinner. Due to Celiacs, they’re on a gluten free diet, and suggested this place as an option, and oh my god. The food was absolutely divine. My wife had a risotto dish, and I the Spanish Flank Steak; we cannot recommend both those dishes enough! Will definitely be visiting again!

I have mixed feelings about this place. The food was pretty good. We got the tasting menu and I loved the caprese salad. The risotto was alright. It seemed strange to me to serve the entree in such small bowls as it made me feel a little cheated, but it ended up being a good amount of food and filling. My partner enjoyed the lamb dish he got, but it wasn’t anything to really talk about.

The desserts were surprising texture wise.
The pistachio gelato was icy and was not at all smooth. There were bits of pistachio all throughout giving it a rough texture. It was very different from the creamy gelato you would typically get at a shop. The tahini chocolate mousse was very thick which is for a mousse. But it didn’t have any balance. It needed some cream on top or berries to balance out the bitter and sweet overwhelming chocolate flavor.

The service was shockingly bad. Our server was good with all aspects of the job except for hospitality. They remembered our orders, brought food in a timely manner, etc. But they were extremely brusque. When we arrived, they didn’t ask us if we had dined there before nor did they even introduce themselves to us. They told us nothing about the restaurant or the menu. We didn’t know how the tasting menu worked so we asked and just told us we order the first 2 courses now. When they asked us how our food was, it was super brief and they didn’t ask if there was anything else we needed which is typically also asked at this time from servers.

When it was time to order dessert, they said the options so fast and asked in a way as if we had already decided when I didn’t even remember what they were. I asked them to repeat them, which they did, but they didn’t tell us anything about the dishes to accompany it. Lastly, and most egregiously, they gave us the check while my partner was still midway through his ice cream.

As a side note, they serve water in these cider bottles which is a bit confusing. I love the idea of reusing them, but they could at least take the labels off. Especially as someone who does not drink alcohol, this felt a bit weird. The decor felt a bit weird like they weren’t sure what aesthetic to commit to. The paintings and vases were odd and did not fit with the overall atmosphere of the place.

I wanted to like this restaurant especially as someone who is gluten intolerant but I sadly will probably not be coming back.

a/stir is a gem! We started visiting for occasional date nights since my husband's celiac diagnosis, but our most recent meal there earned my review. Chef Ton made a lemongrass-encrusted sea bass with green curry sauce and veggies that was straight-up INCREDIBLE. Don't sleep on this special if it's available during your visit! We're big fans of this a/stir, and I appreciate their varied menu because it means we can swing by to scratch an itch we can't meet elsewhere (fried chicken sandwich for him, fish and chips for me) or come in for upscale date night. Staff are fantastic, always helpful, welcoming, and efficient. We will be back, many times!

So amazing and delicious!!! I got the eggplant dip, the farmers salad and the spaghetti with a piece of the fried chicken thigh. The pita and the eggplant were truly the best bites. I loved it all so much. It's all completely gluten free. l also got a gf IPA which is such an amazing option. Finally the chef owner was welcoming us and checked in many times. We had a reservation and heard a couple people were sent down stairs to the other part-so make a reservation for sure. The ambiance was chill and beautiful. We got a booth and loved it. Truly delicious and fun dining experience.

Came on a weekday evening. It is probably the only place I know in Seattle where the full menu is gluten free. Kind of worked really well for my friend who is gluten allergic. I personally loved the enhanced mediterranean style food. The presentation of pillaf was something that really stood out. The rice stuffed in squash is pretty appealing. The egg plant recipe with yoghurt reminded me of Baba Ganoush. It was probably was that lol. The baguette - the gluten free one with some olive oil and sea salt can be a good mix to fill you up.

Atmosphere is great, host is welcoming. One thing though is the portion size is not that great. But they cover that with their food presentation.

We read the Google reviews and received recommendations from Celiac Travel and they were spot on that we would have a wonderful experience at your restaurant. Portions were the perfect size but the blend of ingredients were amazing especially with the deconstructed dolma. The mac and lobster was terrific, too. Thank you for the great service and delicious food for first timers to Seattle!

Customerservice, poor Management, horrible server, will never be back. The laundry list of bad service would take hours. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Not a lot of dairy free options. They ran out of the dairy free eggplant I ordered and the squid orzo was not good. The server was new, had no idea what he was doing and forgot our appetizer, even though we had a conversation about whether it contained dairy. The rest of my family enjoyed the meal but I left eating nothing at all. Would not recommend.
