I ordered the Kali Mist medium sub. Yeah it was terrible. Definitely didn't look like the pictures in other reviews. My sandwich was luke warmand there was literally turkey, cheese, 1 broken slices of bacon, 1 broken slices of avocado, lots of lettuce, bland Chipotle, 2 slices of jalapeño, pickle spears. No tomatoes no onions and absolutely no flavor or spice. I can make a better sandwich at home.
The music was so loud it was hard to communicate with the girl taking our order. She had absolutely no people skills or personality either.
All the bright lights and loud music doesn't make a restaurant. It's the food and the people. Epic fail and we will not return. I'll go to Subway if I want an over priced flavorless sandwich.

I've been coming here for awhile and Cheba is always great! If you're craving a warm and toasty, filling, flavorful sandwich this is your spot! I usually go for the White Widow with some bbq chips; definitely perfect comfort food after a long day at work. Tyler, the manager, is really friendly and does a great job making it all happen! Definitely recommend!

Wife and I decided to check this spot out for lunch on New Year's Day. Because of the timing and how early we went, parking was easily found down the street. Short line before we ordered Pacific Blue (Tuna Melt) and The Kind (Turkey, Bacon & Shrooms) sandwiches with chips and a sweet tea and a blue raspberry Kool Aid. My wife thoroughly enoughed her Pacific Blue sandwich, the tuna itself was high quality and paired really well with the toasted garlic bread. My The Kind sandwich was good although slightly dry, next time I'll add some type of sauce to it but otherwise very flavorful and filling (my wife's tuna sandwich was a nug and my sandwich size was a pinner). The blueberry Kool Aid was outstanding, not overly sweet and the goo ball was the perfect gooey dessert treat for lunch. Great music selection playing overhead and a special shoutout to Diego for making it all go down! Definitely a recommend spot for tasty toasty subs that are quite filling whenever you're in the U District.

(Tlss: Lactose intolerant ordered a sub without dairy and got dairy after overhearing someone else got there order messed up.) Walked in to get a sub cause I used to go to cheba hut all the time in San diego but while I was waiting for my food I overheard the manager telling someone they couldnt keep remaking their order cause it was made wrong.. well I thought to myself make it right the first time then. I then get my order and it was made wrong... oh how did I not expect this. Sent it back and they remade it. Chipotle mayo has to be one of the worst topping you can put in a sub, my fault for not reading it was a spicy sub. In hindsight I did ask for the most plain sub they had and they said grilled cheese.. im lactose intolerant. Can yall just make me a simple turkey and ham sandwhich!? Ill go back but ill make sure to be very specific. Make sure yall do the same.

One of my favorite lunch spots. Literally crave the sensi kush! Their customer service is amazing too. There was an off day with a sauce and Kristin went above and beyond and exceeded expectations! Shout out to the crew here too! Cannot recommend enough! 💚

The server with the green hair (I think this name was Austin) was great. He took care in making my sandwiches and had great customer service skills. This establishment should cherish a young guy like that.

Heard great things about this place . Decided to place an order through uber eats . I ordered the club. The flavor was ok but there was barely any meat!! The one slice of turkey was soooo thin literally no point for it to be on there , same with the ham and there was no bacon at all! I basically ended up spending over $30 for lettuce and bread
