My favorite Sichuan restaurant in Seattle. Love coming here for date nights or with large groups. We always try new dishes and some of our favorites include the mung bean jelly noodles, mapo tofu, toothpick lamb with cumin, and the pork hock.
Beware that this place is SPICY! The food is really good if you can stomach it. The spice is rated out of 5, and the mapo tofu was a 2 and it was just the right amount of sichuan heat. The depth of flavor is really rare from my experience with mapo tofu - this place did not disappoint. The mung bean noodles were fun but kind of lacked flavor overall. Fried rice was legit. Would love to try other things on the menu.
I spent 15+ years living in China, including a few years in Chengdu/Sichuan Province. Chengdu Taste is an authentic, Sichuan-style Chinese restaurant. This is not an Americanized Chinese restaurant. The food here is absolutely amazing, but can be quite spicy (in a good way!) to those used to Panda Express or other “Chinese” restaurants. We ordered 土豆丝 (shredded potatoes), 宫保鸡丁 (kung pao chicken), 牙签羊肉 (toothpick lamb) and 麻婆豆腐 (spicy tofu)....
