The location and atmosphere are excellent, busy yet tranquil for a Sunday brunch. I enjoyed a well-made Bloody Mary, though the garnish of okra from the owner’s garden was disappointingly only half a slice. Service was efficient but somewhat cold, with little interaction from the bartender. The country fried steak, unfortunately, was thin and dry. Overall, a pleasant setting, but the food and warmth of service did not match the promise.
I really wish Circa was more consistent about keeping menu items in stock. I first came here last year and had their chicken fried steak - it’s one of the best in Seattle. But on return visits they were routinely out so I stopped visiting. I decided to try again recently but twice within the last two weeks they were out of both chicken fried steak and hashbrowns. We had such high hopes for this visit. I was genuinely looking forward to an old-fashioned meatloaf dinner. It’s a charming corner neighborhood café with what seems to be a very loyal following. The meatloaf plate itself was generous, and the meal was served promptly. However, the blue cheese salad was a bit underwhelming—small in portion and a few browning leaves.
