My bagel was really really hard on one side, aside from that everything was awesome as always. Maybe the toaster is on break lol

I was here with my partner, and after we ordered our coffee, the server, forgot to charge us for the additional shot of espresso, which happens but the male owner when he saw that he started being rude towards the barista and putting her down even to the point of making her feel like she is dumb in front of customers for a small mistake that happens. He should have been a good leader and manager by sharing the feedback in private in a constructive manner and offering encouragement and retraining every POS system is different. As a customer it saddens me when owners or managers in the service industry lack management and leadership skills. A feedback for the man who seemed like the owner do better, and treat your staff better even if there is a learning curve

This is an archetypal ideal of a Seattle cafe: casual yet sophisticated, thoroughly moody and perfect for rainy days, soundtracked with a lot of '90s alternative music, perfect place for putting on your black turtleneck to go chat with a friend or work on your laptop or just hang out and enjoy the dimly lit atmosphere. I had a chai latte here and a sandwich that had Muenster cheese and salami and I believe avocado. There's nothing particularly special about this place, and the sand which was good without being great, but I am very glad that place is like this exist. They are a large part of what makes Seattle what it is. The best place is to just be and live in Seattle are often cafes, just like this one. These kinds of places are often made by their atmosphere, and the atmosphere here is very good. When I return to this area, I will probably return to this cafe.

Good breakfast sandwiches - you can choose something from the menu or create your own from different ingredients. Everything is very fresh and tasty! Good portion size, really healthy. Many coffee and other hot drinks options.
Here you can also buy some yoghurts and pastries.
Free wi-fi for guests. There are cozy places inside and couple of tables outside.
Cool and friendly staff.

Smoothies and sandwiches Iāve gotten have always been great. The reason for 3 stars is, the past handful of times Iāve come in Iāve had to wait 10+ minutes for my food or drink. Iāve seen other customers that have placed an order after I have get their food or drink way before mine is being made.
I noticed someone said they were treated differently because of their race, and while I can't dismiss their words or feelings I can say I have had a very different experience here. Speaking as a black man, I specifically choose to come to Coffee Tree over other close coffee shops (of which there are many) because of the great food/drinks and the vibe and energy. I am always greeted with a warm smile and often chat with the baristas and the owner. This place is a pillar in the community, and I go whenever I can. The music is amazing the service is quick, and I have never felt any sense of disrespect or ill treatment by any staff there. Just wanted to share my experiences as well. Stop by and try this place out whenever you have a chance.

As a former regular customer of this coffee shop, I feel compelled to share my experience, particularly for fellow African American patrons. Over time, I began to notice a pattern of differential treatment from both the staff and ownership that suggested underlying racial bias.
Whenever I entered the shop, I was consistently met with indifferenceāno greeting, no acknowledgment. In contrast, customers of other ethnic backgrounds were warmly welcomed with cheerful greetings. The overall demeanor toward me was often cold and unwelcoming.
There is one staff member in particular who consistently makes it clear through her actions that she does not want to serve African American guests. She has black hair, a mullet, and noticeable piercings. Every time I visit, she avoids speaking to me, while warmly greeting other guests. Itās disheartening to even write this, especially considering that the ownersāwho are people of color themselvesāseem to display the same kind of behavior.
Grabbing a morning coffee should be a simple pleasure and a positive start to the day, but encountering what felt like blatant racism made it an uncomfortable experience. I can no longer support a business where I donāt feel respected or valued, and I would advise others to consider spending their money where inclusivity and fairness are prioritized.

Love this place! Staff is very nice, and it's a cozy place to hang out. This is the sister cafe of the Coffee Tree & Bop around the corner (that has amazing quality fresh-cooked food). Coffee tree is great for a quick cafe snack, sandwich and drink :)
