We live in Spokane and travel to Columbia City to visit our son and the Ale House is our “go to” every time! My favorite is the BLT but everything is great. In my opinion you’ve got to try it. We’ve been there so much we’ve gotten to know everyone there and Kelly makes amazingly delicious soups and what a nice guy!! The owner is so friendly and has a knack for hiring the best staff as they all make you feel so welcomed and take great care of you. I can’t wait to get back there next month, hopefully for their once a month fish and chips… yum!!

Always great food, great service and good atmosphere. I have been coming here for years and now my wife and I go at least 2-3 times a month. The tuna melt is always a perfect option but you can’t go wrong with any of the food.

A long-time favorite of mine I used to frequent about 10 years ago. Just returned to the neighborhood to check it out and learned that they did have to close during covid but one of the staff members was able to purchase it. The vibes and look have remained largely the same and the food which was always a highlight for me was still tip notch. A great selection of draft beers was always true but now they have added a short list of quality spirits. Do yourself a favor and grab a bite and a brew!

Spend enough time at The Ale House and it begins to become a part of who you are. It's a neighborhood joint that is far more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a cornerstone of community. Stepping through its doors feels like returning to a place I call home. The ambiance is not just the food or the drinks; it's the genuine sense of belonging and camaraderie that envelops you. What sets this establishment apart is the exceptional staff. Their warmth and attentiveness transform every visit into an experience that transcends mere transactions. It's like being welcomed into a gathering of cherished friends and family, rather than just another customer. While the menu offers an array of tantalizing options, I must confess my loyalty to their Reuben sandwich - a culinary masterpiece that, in my opinion, reigns supreme in Seattle. The harmonious blend of flavors, the perfect textures, it's a dish I find myself gravitating towards time and time again. Why explore further when you've found perfection?Beyond the fantastic food, it's the sense of community that truly captivates me. The Columbia City Ale House is a hub where people come together, share stories, laughter, and forge connections. It's a space that fosters a feeling of togetherness, reminiscent of the warmth one feels during holiday dinners with loved ones. It's a haven where the best of food, camaraderie, and a welcoming atmosphere blend seamlessly to create an experience that lingers in your heart long after you've left.

A great, cozy neighborhood hangout with respectable bar food. Would recommend. One of several Columbia City places that are great for a beer and a burger. The gumbo is good too.

Love this place and the food is amazing! We come here 1-2 times a month and bring folks from outside of Seattle who still rave about it. Emily’s management through the pandemic has been nothing short of epic!

Came during Oktoberfest and had a very authentic jagerschnitzel. Combined with fun staff and a wide selection of beer, I had a great visit.

Such a great neighborhood bar. The atmosphere can't really be replicated anywhere else. Dim light, smooth music, great beer and great comfort food. The menu has some great selections. The staff and owner are awesome. Very attentive and super nice. Definitely, if you're in the area must stop in for a drink and/or food. They also offer a good happy hour.

Nice pub right on the walkable front street of Columbia City, the menu has some great options from the standard sandwiches to specials that have some German flair. Great spot for a drink or a quick bite.
