Delicious and delectable. Classic nice dining experience with Italian food. In no way the best food I’ve ever had but you get what you’d expect.

We came for Seattle restaurant week offerings. The starters were AMAZING (Prosciutto Di Parma and Fig Tartine) . But then the mains came out (flat iron steak, ricotta ravioli) and they were extremely disappointing. They both came out cold to the touch, and the ravioli brown butter and balsamic "sauce" had the consistency of water. The Gelato and chocolate crumb ice creams desserts were delicious though.

Also, the mandatory 22% service fee was ABSURD. For two people is came out to $300 total for an overall mediocre meal. The hot dog stand two blocks over had a better experience and product.

My job recently moved out of the area to South Lake Union and it makes me sad that Cortina isn't as easily accessible to me for happy hour or after work dinners anymore. I've come here a handful of times now and started to during the pandemic. The first time my coworker and I ordered various items off their happy hour menu: Little Gem Salad, Baby Beets, Burrata, and 3 of the pastas. We were expecting small, tasting sized dishes, but to our surprise they were all full sized pastas! All of them al dente and so flavorful. If I had to pick my least favorite, probably the Strozzapreti. Nothing unappetizing about it and the description sounds delicious but there's a bit of an interesting, fragrant, minty flavor that it leaves behind. Honestly, it's probably just me. I would have to try it again though. They have since increased their prices to now $21/pasta from $15 for happy hour, but it doesn't stop me from coming back. Honestly what's affordable nowadays?

I have also had some items off the dinner menu: Their Grilled Octopus (a lil chewy not the best I've had), Paccheri Nero (no complaints), Chicken Parmesan Sandwich (omg so gooood, and I don't normally like tomato sauces or chicken cutlets. The portion is huge!), and their steak (cooked and seasoned to perfection).

I honestly have no real complaints about this place. It's weird that a previous yelper said there were no pasta dishes available on the dinner menu. Isn't there 7? Lol. He probably only recognized "Ravioli" as the only Italian term for a type of pasta.

I won't mind making the 25 minute trek in the future to come back. One of the better happy hours in downtown!

Food was good. Service was terrible. Didn't see my waitress after she took my order until 20 mins after someone else cleared the table.

We bought out Cortina for a work dinner. Food was excellent, our event planner Phia was very prompt and helpful, the all servers were so nice, knowledgeable, and patient with our large group. They were great with the various dietary restrictions for the group too!

Came for a work lunch and ordered a steak salad. It was so unmemorable, I forget the name. Steak was tough, salad was chopped within an inch of its life, overdressed, and incredibly salty. Service was great, however.

This is specifically for the Cortina Cafe, which is their coffee bar/quick grab-and-go location upstairs, near the elevators.

Today I ordered myself some breakfast and a hot latte. I ordered it with non dairy milk, as I'm lactose intolerant. I'm lucky that I had already taken a dairy pill because the food i ordered had dairy in it, because if I had only ordered the drink i would have had to go home VERY ill and in a lot of pain. Drinking milk will normally destroy my stomach and ruin my whole day; my stomach can't seem to handle drinking milk but will tolerate cheese/yogurt with the help of a dairy pill (milk contains more actual lactose than cheese or yogurt, in case anyone is wondering why I'd be worried about a milk latte and not worried about cheese - the pill allows me to tolerate the cheese, but I often still get painfully sick from drinking actual milk).

I didn't realize my cup didn't say oat milk until 1.5 hours after I'd gotten my latte and returned to my desk. I went downstairs to double check and the barista that made my drink this morning confirmed that if it wasn't on the label on the cup, it wasn't made with non dairy milk; and proceeded to tell me to double check next time and/or make sure I actually order it that way. I just kind of stood there for a second, because I was taken aback by the little blame game that I felt was going on... and then said that I certainly ordered it with oat milk, and that it was the second day in a row that they'd messed up my drink.

They just... shrugged?!

Yesterday I accepted my drink being incorrect, even though I specifically answered "hot, please" when they asked if I'd like my latte hot or iced (a coworker was there and confirmed when I double checked with her that I did say "hot"). Everything else about it was right, so no big deal, I'll drink a cold latte rather than waste it. Today I ordered another oat milk latte , and it was not input that way. I can excuse mistakes - they do happen, I get it - but not caring when I point out that it's the 2nd day something has been wrong? Casually insinuating that I didn't order my drink properly (when I know I did)? Not even offering to correct it or give a refund when I say it's the second messed up drink?! They quite literally didn't care. And they charge automatic gratuity, which I always tip ON TOP OF - it's a habit I've been in because I was in the industry for years. It just makes it even worse that they didn't offer to remake my drink or refund it or anything.

It sucks because they're RIGHT at the bottom of the elevators in the building that I work in, and I'd be fine continuing to give them my money if they'd given a hoot that they'd messed up. Oh well, I guess - there are 3+ other coffee shop options within a single block. I'll be spending my money elsewhere.

The food was good. Starters were terrific but entrees were just good (1 was good, one was OK and 1 was meh). My wife had the special and liked it but it was very spicy, which she was warned about but unusually spicy for any Italian we’ve ever had before. I had the gnocchi with braised lamb and sweet peppers but there were only 4 bites of lamb in the whole dish, the gnocchi was mushy and the lack of lamb was made up for with way too many peppers. Tasted like a bad Philly cheesesteak.

For service it was mixed, started off great with a very engaged server that was all over it (ordering drinks and starters). They then had to trade with another server so they could focus on the bar area. The second server was friendly enough but never came to our table without us flagging them down (seemed to actually be avoiding eye contact). It was not a busy night so no real idea what the issue was. Took a long time to order entrees because of the lack of attention. Never checked on us or asked how our food was (or why the gnocchi was mostly uneaten).

Finally, it’s a nicely appointed restaurant but it was really warm (cooler outside than in). Seemed like the AC wasn’t turned on.

In all, not a very satisfying dinner for $503.00 for 3 people (including $200 bottle of wine). Not happy at all about having a set 22% gratuity for service that we didn’t really get (even charged on the $200 bottle of wine that was just set on the table).
