Tasty coffee and pastries just across from the park. The friendly lady running the coffee shop is clearly invested in her neighborhood.
This small locally owned grocery store has just enough in it in a pinch. They have a broad wine and beer selection as well as natural products for the size of the shop. I would recommend anyone in the area supporting this small local business. They carry a small selection of household needed items- toilet paper paper towels etc. Today I picked up a natural chamomile bath soak, some natural anti-dandruff shampoo, my favorite sugar cane soda, and some eye drops.
Kid-friendliness: Definitely a space for families.
Wheelchair accessibility: The front entrance is accessible, the entrance is wide enough and the aisles are at least large enough for a wheelchair.

I discovered Cowen Cafe recently while I was looking for a new coffee spot near my work. I have been in there twice in the last week and can I just say how amazing it has been. The woman greeting me and making my coffee has been so genuine and kind. My coffees have been delicious and so have the pasties. I really enjoyed the coffee and the atmosphere. I recommended this place to all of my coworkers.

We love going here with our little family! Our little one often requests to go to “the cafe” for tasty croissants and cups of soy milk. Owner is always friendly and we like the pastries and sandwiches. Good options in terms of decaf, alternative milks too. Small seating area outside in nice weather in addition to the cozy inside space. They also take Apple Pay, which is convenient when I leave the house w/ out my wallet.

Went to the farmers market and bought a slice of pizza. I needed to find a nice refreshing drink afterwards and stopped by this place. To avoid being rude I sat outside to hurriedly finish my slice of pizza. Less than 15 seconds later, the owner went outside to tell me the seats were for customers. I told her I was trying to finish my last bite of pizza so I could get a drink from her cafe. Honestly it was just uncomfortable and weird. I wouldn’t want to be around her again ew.

The space is nice but not good service. I had a spill and the woman is very stingy with napkins. She gave me two small cocktail napkins even though I had coffee all over my hands. Most places just have napkins easily available. My Americano got messed up so she remade it which is nice, but she's also very stingy with the milk. Not having napkins available is a reason I'd never go back there.

Very rude! Had a coffee and decide to bought some tarts from this place. The lady literally asked me to leave after buying tart or buy coffee from me.Well, sure! Even if you don’t want me there just say it nicely! No need to be rude! Anyway.

It was my first trip to America. This is a cafe I happened to stop by while visiting Ravenna Park. The interior had a comfortable atmosphere, and the owner lady's manners were friendly. We had a meal at a table in front of the cafe with a beautiful view. The sandwiches and chai tea were also really delicious. I was so sad to discover this place on the last day of my trip. If I visit Seattle again, this is a cafe I definitely want to stop by again.
The owners of the grocery store are absolutely lovely. I love going in there. The owner of the café, on the other hand, is another story. Last week, I bought a coffee here, and finally decided that it would be the last time I did so. Last year, she was rude to my father, who came in, an elderly man who is visiting. We have been here for many years, and would love to go to our neighborhood coffee shop, but she treats us not only as if we are strangers but as if we are unwelcome. Life is hard, but that is no excuse to treat people poorly and have them leave the coffee shop less happy than when they came in. It’s the antithesis of customer service.
I come here almost every day. The owners of the cafe and grocery store are beyond lovely and sweet. The pastries are delicious and the coffee is smooth too! This cafe is precious to the neighborhood and is a great place to visit after walking through Ravenna Park.
Nice family run little store and cafe.
They’re a consistent positive presence in our neighborhood and the coffee is well done.
