Daimonji Sushi & Grill

The food was delicious and fresh, as always. We shared the ora King salmon special, a beautiful (and generously filled) bento box and 6 Rosana rolls (scallops and crab!). Service was wonderful and a perfect Valentine's eve dinner!

This is my local Japanese/sushi place. The owners and staff are wonderful! They have great classic sushi, but also a full kitchen with other great Japanese dishes. The Four Seasons roll is my favorite. Try the hand roll version if dining alone. Salmon roe (ikura) has their own house marinade. Tempura is perfect, and they have tempura banana with ice cream for desert.

I want to share my love for this restaurant. It’s clearly a family-run business with a lot of heart behind it! We had previously had some COVID-times takeout from here and knew the food quality was top-notch. We finally got a chance to eat in and bring our 1 year old twins with us. We thought it wasn’t going to work out because they only had one high chair available. Guess what? They whipped out an even better high chair that their own child used to use! And that very child was sitting right there, now approximately pre-teen age, doing their homework at the high top.
They had a mix-up between us and another table, accidentally giving us a higher price-point item. We had no idea, we had just overheard them talking, and they fully comped the item to us and the other guest.

They were fast, high quality and so kind and personable! We overheard them on a first name basis with multiple other customers. I could go on, but we so appreciated what a warm, family feel they had and we will absolutely be back!

You should do yourself a favor and eat at daimonji, especially if you live in Georgetown or beacon hill. They take their food seriously, and it shows: the sushi in particular is really fantastic and fresh, with excellent nigiri specials. They also have real wasabi available, which is rare. It’s so flavorful. The people working there are always friendly and give me great recommendations. I’ve been there twice this week and I’m already looking forward to next time. They do takeout too!

This is our first visit to Daimonji and it won’t be the last! Chef Alex knows his sushi! You can taste the freshness of their fish. Toro & hamachi belly is a must try if it’s on their menu! You get a lot of food from their bento. Tempura is light and crispy. Fried banana tempura with ice cream is a great way to end the dinner. Staff are very friendly and service was quick. If you love fresh tasty sushi, you need to visit Daimonji!!!

The food is nourishing and delicious. The staff are super helpful and kind. Had the tempura udon with broth, seaweed salad, and two rolls. All of it was great. Don’t sleep on this place!

We stopped here on the fly on the way home from work, not expecting too much. Imagine our surprise at how good quality the fish was! Toro, Super white tuna, Oraking salmon, genuine wasabi...my mouth was in ecstasy with every mouthful! And to top it off, the sushi chef and the server were so friendly. I think we found our new sushi spot! 🫶🏼
