Aggressive, deliberately confrontational, and unprofessional door staff. Several door staff (3-4 employees) came out from INSIDE of Earl's to aggressively confront our group in the STREET as we were walking past on our way to another bar.Visited Earl's with a group of friends, one of whom is Canadian. Our Canadian friend presented an Employment Authorization Card as an ID to the door staff. The employee glanced at the card before motioning our friend out of line without saying a word. After several other people had entered the bar, our friend asked him for an explanation, to which the employee responded with "we refuse the right to refuse service to anyone", with no further explanation.A manager eventually came out to explain that Washington State does not accept EAD cards as a valid form of identification, despite the EAD being an identification document issued by the federal government. However, as he was very professional and courteous we did not argue the case and left Earl's.After doing more research on valid forms of identification in Washington State and finding online that the EAD is listed as a valid stand-alone document by the Washington State Department of Licensing, our friend approached the doorman and asked if they could see the manager again. The doorman was very dismissive, said that he would not call the manager, then got up and went into the bar. At that point we left to go to another bar.The REAL issue was an hour later, when we left the other bar and walked past Earl's again to get to our next location. All of us remained on the street and at no point attempted to enter Earl's property. As we walked by, our friend made eye contact from the street with the doorman who was INSIDE Earl's. Without any provocation, the doorman, as well as several other bouncers, then came OUTSIDE of Earl's to confront our group in the street, cussing at us and coming to within a foot of our faces. All of this happened on the sidewalk, as we were walking away from the bar.It is deeply concerning that Earl's staff deem it appropriate to pursue and confront people outside their premises, especially in such a belligerent manner. This behavior not only hurts the reputation of the establishment but also raises serious questions about the staff's suitability for serving an international clientele in a diverse city like Seattle.

Great sports bar in University District. I stopped by to grab some food on Friday night. They have a kitchen inside called "Pauly's at Earl's" with some fantastic food. The menu has pizza, salads, burgers and other great pub fare. I had the "Southwest Burger" and it was fantastic. It had a house sauce on the inside that had a very unique flavor. The fries were very well-made too. The drinks here are good and well- priced. Had a margarita and it was good value for the money. They have a big projector and TVs everywhere so people can watch their favorite games. They also have pool tables. Definitely stop by if you're in the neighborhood and craving some great pub fare or want to catch a game.

They charge you for non-cash payment, gratuity and ask for tip too.

Workers are quick to pick fights with anyone of color but when ppl step up they like to pepper spray. Big fat bartender is the dirtiest person ever really hope Seattle inspectors check this place as multiple underage college kids are in there drinking every night.

My best friend, a disabled veteran, was DD for the night. He went to the washroom and back - security said he had to leave because they saw him stumble - likely due to his war injury. It caught us off guard and ruined our night. Do not go here if you’re planning your night intelligently.

I went here to meet up with some of my friends (UW alumni) to watch Husky football. Great selection of beers on tap and prices. The bar food was good and as expected. About 45 minutes to kick off with no long lines at the bar, but for some reason, I was passed up by 5-6 people before being recognized to take my drink order. Even bellied up to the bar, absolutely no eye contact. Felt discriminated for some reason. 11/18/23
