Mark was an excellent host! Chef Joe killed it! We'll be back again for sure!!
Always the best
Atmosphere and service were great! Todd made us feel lile he was hosting just us for dinner. The tableside Caesar was awesome.
Atmosphere nice, but music a bit too loud. Calamari like rubber, tasteless beet salad & fishy crab on too salty béarnaise on chewy tenderloin. Most expensive awful dinner I have had in a long time. Stay away.
This is one of the best restaurants in Seattle to get a steak at. They are consistent, always do a great job putting on a show, and at providing excellent service. There are some amazing flavors on their menu!
El Gaucho in both Seattle and Bellevue offers such a special dining experience. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and just the right amount of nostalgic. Later in the evening, live piano music adds a lovely ambiance that makes the night feel even more memorable.
Seattle definitely has a relaxed approach to style, which is part of its charm—but we love any excuse to dress up a little. El Gaucho is one of those places where it just feels right to make an evening of it. There’s something timeless and refreshing about that.
The food is consistently excellent. I especially love their salads—the Caesar, mixed greens, and wedge are all fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The creamed spinach is a favorite, and their filets are always perfectly cooked. The table-side service brings a fun, personal touch, and the shareable a la carte sides are generous and delicious.
While they’re known for steaks and chops, El Gaucho also offers great vegetarian options that are just as thoughtfully prepared. They’re incredibly accommodating with dietary restrictions too—always willing to adjust or offer alternatives in a way that feels welcoming and effortless.
The cocktails are beautifully balanced, and the wine list is extensive, with something for every palate. Service throughout the evening is warm, attentive, and never rushed—you truly feel taken care of from the moment you arrive.
And speaking of arriving and leaving—the valet service is a wonderful touch. We especially love the warm cookies they offer at the end of the night. It’s such a sweet, memorable detail that perfectly wraps up the whole experience.
Whether you’re celebrating something special or just treating yourself to a night out, El Gaucho makes it feel like an occasion. Highly recommend.
An Exquisite Dining Experience!
We started with the Fried Calamari—perfectly crispy and full of flavor. For our main courses, we had the Filet Mignon and Steak, both high-quality cuts cooked exactly as requested. The mushroom risotto and asparagus sides were equally delicious and complemented the dishes perfectly.
For dessert, the Crème Brûlée was smooth and a perfect ending to the meal.
Service was excellent—staff were very attentive and friendly throughout the evening.
The live piano music added a warm and elegant touch to the atmosphere.
We’ll definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Wow. I need to thank Sarah and Drew for ensuring my partner and I had an incredible experience at El Gaucho. I just feel so fortunate to have had the two elevate our time there this past Sunday for my partner’s belated birthday. I’m not sure of the screening process to work there but my god I can most definitely vouch for Sarah and Drew.
Drew - thank you so much for your warm welcome and energy. Immediately this made my partner and I feel comfortable. You provided a wonderful recommendation with the mac and cheese as it did not disappoint. Your kindness and attentiveness left us speechless. Needless to say, you clearly carry traits that reflect an experienced and knowledgeable person who knows this industry and service extremely well.
Drew had an effortless way of making sure we were cared for without hovering us. It’s very rare to come across someone who nails professionalism and warmth. Every interaction with him made our dining experience so worth it and special. So, thank you very much.
Sarah - you are unreal. I have no idea where to start. We have never had a server like you in our lives. From the moment she greeted us, it was clear we were in the hands of an obvious professional. Her kind, confident presence immediately put us at ease, and her recommendations? Spot on. But what really blew us away was the fact that she asked if we were on a time crunch — something no one has ever asked us before. (And we actually were!) That one question completely changed the flow of our meal, and thanks to her incredible awareness and efficiency, we had our two perfectly cooked steaks, sides, and even dessert — all out and enjoyed in under an hour. We didn’t feel rushed, either. It was paced beautifully, and we still got the full El Gaucho experience without sacrificing quality or service. I genuinely cannot believe how smooth and exceptional the entire night was. Sarah was so on it, and you can just tell she’s been in the industry for a long time — it shows in every little detail. If you have the chance to be served by Sarah, consider yourself lucky. She made our night absolutely unforgettable.
Finally as for what we ate — highly recommend the ribeyes (medium) with the truffle butter on the side, the mac and cheese, and the crispy brussel sprouts cooked in bacon fat (I didn’t even know that was possible, but wow). We wrapped it all up with the bread pudding for dessert, which was beyond perfect. Please get this.
El Gaucho - you are truly lucky to have both Sarah and Drew on your team. They made our night one to remember. Thanks to them — we’ll be back soon! Oh and the food of course : ) This is a 10/10 in my book.
Amazing experience at this restaurant.
El Gaucho donated a great meal to the Blaine Veterans Center (owned by Seattle First United Methodist Church) on Armed Forces Day, May 17th. Hard to characterize how much this meal meant to the men that have served our country. El Gaucho cares not only about great service and culinary experiences of their patrons, but also to the greater community, and in this case, those that have served in the military.

Quality of food is not very good. It smells inside the restaurant and it is an amazing dark ambiance. Plus loud. Not a nice atmosphere.
Wagyu 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Oysters were outstanding, the steak Diana superb. Service was impeccable and the atmosphere perfect for a special occasion. Craft cocktails, live piano, espresso cheesecake, and attentive staff made the evening perfect.
Been coming here for a few years. Food has always been outstandingly consistent. The service is always above and beyond. Recommend for any event or even just a dinner out. Also live music makes the atmosphere so enjoyable.
Have been going here for years and it’s always fantastic!
