El Ranchon Family Mexican Restaurant

This place was great! My girlfriend and I went here last week and got a carne asada and a ranchon burrito. They both were amazing, but the best thing about the place was the customer service. We were immediaty welcomed and treated very well and our food was brought out very fast.

The service at this restaurant was excellent, but the food left much to be desired. When my meal arrived, the aroma was inviting, and the generous portions initially raised my expectations. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended.

The chimichangas were disappointing; both lacked seasoning, and one was soggy on the bottom, as shown in the photo. Additionally, the excessive oil made them unappetizing. The rice and beans, staples of any good Mexican meal, were also bland and completely unseasoned. Even the salsa, while passable, lacked the depth of flavor I’ve come to expect.

To make matters worse, the horchata was served with ice—a rarity in most Mexican restaurants—which diluted the drink quickly, leaving me with just a few sips.

Given the high prices, seemingly inflated due to the restaurant’s location, the quality of the food and drinks simply doesn’t justify the cost. Many smaller, unassuming places like food trucks or hole-in-the-wall restaurants offer far better, more flavorful meals at a fraction of the price. Sadly, this experience ensures I won’t be returning.

We love this Mexican restaurant. The service here is exceptional, the food is wonderful, and the fresh lime margarita does not disappoint. Plus, the staff is friendly and the restaurant is squeaky clean. Rosie is the best!

And if they prepared green mole, Menudo and pozole!! They would be on another level.

My server was great, very polite and made sure my experience at the restaurant was superb. I would recommend this restaurant, it was like a hidden gem and I wish I found this place sooner. The food was great and the portions were pretty good as well. I plan on coming back pretty soon!

Best in the neighborhood. We enjoyed everything about our experience from the hospitality of the staff to the exceptional food. I only wish we still lived in Washington so we could visit more often. I would highly recommend.
