It’s been four years now since I’ve lived in Seattle, and I still think about my favorite restaurant. Haven’t found anything like it anywhere else I’ve been. I always look forward to stopping by here when I’m visiting.

I’ve been waiting to try Emerald City Fish and Chips for so long and finally made it over last week. I ordered the halibut fish and chips, my husband had the Alaskan cod, and we ordered the crab puppies. Everything was incredible, best halibut fish and chips I’ve had in Washington and the crab puppies were so moist and flavorful. I loved the variety of sauces that come with the meal, they were all unique and delicious. Steve, the owner, is super kind and made us feel welcomed right when we walked in. I got a very inclusive neighborhood vibe, like someone might invite you to sit with them if you’re dining on your own. I also loved the no frills feel of the inside. It’s a place that speaks for itself, they do fish and chips and they do them well. Make it a point to swing through and check them out if you haven’t yet.

Terrible service. I ordered online and got a notification saying the order is ready for pickup. They had not even started preparing my order when I got there. They spoke very disrespectfully to me when I told them I had ordered online, and when I pointed out that people ordering after me were getting their orders.

Emerald City Fish and Chips is an absolute must visit! This was my very first visit, and I can’t believe I waited so long. I’ve literally missed out on years of incredible seafood, and there’s no way to get that time back. On this visit, I indulged in three fried prawns and three fried oysters—each bite was perfection and some of the best fried seafood I’ve ever had.
I drive by this spot at least once a week without ever realizing what I was missing. The warmth and kindness of the gentleman behind the counter truly made the experience special, and the free sample of their delicious smoked salmon chowder was a fantastic bonus (which I’m definitely looking forward to enjoying on my next visit).
If you haven’t experienced Emerald City Fish and Chips yet, don’t wait—run… run fast on over and taste the magic for yourself. Five stars all the way!

I ordered the Salmon chowder. So delicious and very homey atmosphere. Owner was really friendly and struck up a nice conversation with me. Will definitely come back next time I am in Seattle.

Locally owned business, staff was friendly with a great smile. I ordered the cod included crisp lettuce, tomato, served on a toasted, and fries. Tartar sauce came on the side. Perfect portion.
Only 4 stars due to my bun completely falling apart with half a sandwich left. That was a disappointment, especially since I did not add the tartar to the sandwich.
Parking: They have over or two spaces right by the front door. Otherwise street parking.

Some of the best catfish and cod I’ve had in Seattle and it’s not insanely overpriced like most places.
