This is my favorite doughnut shop in Seattle! I bought a mixed dozen for my family to try while they were in town for a visit. They were instantly hooked and ended up getting at least one donut every day they were here!
The staff is so friendly and helpful, and the doughnuts are consistently delicious and fresh. They are extremely hard workers! It’s a very popular spot, so I recommend arriving as early as you can. If you’re concerned about the small parking lot, the shop is a short walk from the old Northgate mall and a bit further from the Northgate light rail station.
My personal favorites are their maple bars and blueberry frosted cake doughnuts. That being said, I think all of their doughnuts are phenomenal, and there are no wrong choices at Family Doughnut!

I’m a huge apple fritter fan and pretty picky about them, but this was honestly one of the best I’ve had. Light, flaky, crispy in all the right spots, and the little apple pieces were fried perfectly. My only regret was only buying one. Now I need to go back and try the pineapple fritter. Would highly recommend.

I have never actually been to Family Donut Shop. I live in Canada. HOWEVER, they still deserve 5 stars from me, and here's why:
In my BBF group chat, I REGULARLY get to hear stories about how amazing & community-oriented the people at Family Donut Shop are. They go out of their way to make my friend's 4 year old kid feel like family, she draws them art, and makes them thank you cards, and sends them valentines....and they DISPLAY her art, and make her feel so special. I've been hearing these stories both in the group chat and directly from my niece pretty much weekly since she was barely old enough to eat a cake pop.
This kid I love *LOVES* this donut shop and all the people there, and the stories I hear about her and the donut shop *fully* make my day every time I hear them. SO:
I NEED YOU ALL TO GO GET DONUTS NOW and keep these folks thriving until I get a chance to come and try these donuts for myself.

Super friendly service, there were a few customers coming in and out but the owner took their time to tell me what flavour each donut was and didn’t rush me.
Really affordable, 6 donuts for around $12.
Best of all, delicious, super soft donuts. So glad this is in the neighbourhood, will be coming again and again and again 🍩
Delicious, fresh donuts and great customer service! Make sure you get there early because they do close when they run out of donuts :) I make sure to come right as they open to make sure I get the things I want most. (They have the best maple donuts I’ve ever had) very grateful for this small family business.

Good donuts, but they clearly don’t want people of a certain complexion in their store. Refused to greet me or say a word during our transaction, but kindly greeted the White lady behind me after I paid. I’ll take the hint and won’t be coming back!

DO NOT GET COFFEE FROM THIS PLACE. Shots are burnt and they dont add syrup for flavoring to sweetin up your coffee like a coffee should. I order a 20oz 4 shot white chocolate snickers and I am now drinking super stong black coffee. They flat out need to stop serving espresso and sick to Folgers drip coffee. If I could leave less than 1 star I so would. 🤢🤮😡🤬🤮🤮🤮🤮
