Always a great experience at the Fare Start Guest Chef Dinners and 11/20 with Surrell exceeded the bar. Innovative and delicious courses. I also love that the staff is volunteers and the organizations mission is truly honorable.

Delicious food, great service, and a terrific cause. I love Fare Start! It's a great evening every time.

Great food! Happy to support the cause. If this were an actual full-time restaurant, I could not-pick here and there, but they did a great job.

Guest Chef night with Victor Steinbruck of Local Tide was a triumph! I woke up the next day thinking about the Black Cod and Mochi doughnuts. Amazing food! The staff was attentive and skilled. But I am not a fan of the TGIFridays/Bennigans style screaming out by staff to the entire restaurant re anniversaries and birthdays, which happened 5 or 6 times in the hour I was there. It was jarring and obtrusive. I wouldn't want someone doing this on my own special occasion no matter what the restaurant was. The overall noise level was also loud due to all surfaces being hard - concrete, metal, etc- with no fabrics or baffling to absorb noise. But this issue is common to many restaurants these days, unfortunately.

FareStart is a great organization helping individuals with barriers and challenges to develop life skills and make connections to help them build careers in the food industry. When guest chefs come in to share their experiences and skills with the students, it makes for a memorable evening of dining. If you get a chance to support this organization and its students, I highly recommend you do! Chef Victor from Local Tide curated a delicious menu!

I took a childhood friend for her birthday during a recent Chef's Night. From the warm greeting by the manager to the outstanding ambience and food, we had an exceptional experience at Fare Start. Love the concept and love the idea of goodwill to all. A Seattle dining must!

We were so excited to go to a Guest Chef night - and Michela Tartaglia from Pasta Casalinga did not disappoint! Delicious food and the volunteer servers were friendly and did a great job.

Fare Start is a place to come together to support people learning a trade to reenter society. Guest chefs provide menus and help with preparation of the dining event. Everyone working there is volunteering their time. The guest chef for this particular event was Michela Tartaglia from Pasta Casalinga. The food was delicious and the event was fun. It's an enjoyable way to give back to the community.

We, 2 older professionals who are women, were put upstairs and in the very back of the room. We were dressed in clean contemporary professional attire, I might add. And it should have been clear that we walked slowly as we navigated the stairs. We had to endure the loudness of a large crowd at an adjacent table. In the future, I expect to be seated in the main dining area and not relegated to climbing stairs and being placed in a corner.

FareStart is a great organization and it's loads of fun to participate in their guest chef nights. The food is delicious, with a reasonable price point, and the service was warm & friendly. I would highly recommend the Guest Chef nights at FareStart!

We went for dinner to celebrate my son's birthday. We were very pleased with the food and service. Such a lovely evening with the family. Service was friendly and professional. Chef Stuart hit it out of the park. Get your reservation. You won't be disappointed

What a wonderful experience at FareStart. We took my mom for her 91st birthday and she was beaming the entire time. The food was delicious from guest chef Sean from La Colline. My brother said the salmon was melt-in-your-mouth and the curing/smoking was perfect, not overpowering at all. I don't normally like corn chowder but the soup was perfect - creamy and smooth but not cloying. And the dessert was light and lovely. Service was a little slow but then we also weren't a full party ready to go at the appointed time, so all good. I definitely recommend trying one of these special evenings.

Guest Chef Nights are the best! Lovely to support a fantastic, impactful organization AND sample a menu from a great local chef. LOVE these events. (Tip generously, the money goes to FareStart)

Amazing night experiencing Sean Arakaki's menu. Friendly and considerate staff. Thank you to the volunteers. You guys have been the only restaurant I booked on Open Table (where I keep a profile) who immediately knew and didn't have to ask about my allergy!! Thank you for caring enough to read up and prep for your guests. 5 stars on Hospitality!!
