Favorite coffee shop in Ballard and always greeted with a smile. Our pups are also huge fans and always demand that we go to Firehouse Coffee.
Looks like there’s a bunch of moms from some group talking about this place being unfriendly to kids.. I’ve never experienced or witnessed any kind of rudeness from any of the staff here. I’m sure the real issue is these moms being messy and letting their kids destroy the place and then blame the staff for not being excited about it.

A hidden gem of Ballard with great coffee and great Baristas!
Love this place; freshly baked pastries daily, great drinks, welcoming service, good quality for the money! I love that they open early (6am) and have a drive-through - very convenient for both morning commuters and road trippers. And they always have a treat for my pup. :)

Employees and regulars are very nice and welcoming. Not the best place to work at unless you want to be treated less than (until you “prove” yourself capable) and constantly yelled at over little things.Im glad to now be at a stand that values my experience and customer service, because working there really repelled me from ever wanting to work at a coffee shop again. And I LOVED working at the old Coffeehouse I was at for 3 years before landing at Firehouse.

I've been to the firehouse coffee shop multiple times and never been disappointed! The owner is the sweetest and the staff are all friendly too. I enjoy their baked goods and iced lattes on a nice day:) Would definitely recommend to those looking for a nice coffee spot!
Hard to find a place with great quality and atmosphere, and this place has both! I was recommended this place by a coworker and have never looked back. A great place to casually dine in or grab food and drinks on the go. The owner is lovely and always deliver great customer service stop by if you are ever near Ballard!

Very friendly and great espresso drinks. They serve both breakfast and lunch options - breakfast burrito is my favorite! Great calm atmosphere with the music. Also has drive-thru!
Vegetarian options: Has vegan pastry option and veggie breakfast sandwiches
Kid-friendliness: Has always been kid and family friendly - even has a space/room where people can go in and meet in their own space and/or quietly work!

After finding they are no longer family friendly after a long history of welcoming children, I will no longer be coming to Firehouse, even without accompanying children. The rudeness, sudden switch, and way the owner is handling the change all absolutely play a large factor in this decision. There’s better coffee and food in the Ballard area anyway.
