Yep, well, not organic or local ingredients, but considering the crap that the U.S. puts in their locally made food, this is the exception to rule... exquisite yummies.
An amazing store, staff and tremendous history behind the company and how it got it started
Love frans so much! Best chocolate in Seattle.
Fran’s Chocolate Factory and Tasting Room in Georgetown is nestled inside the retrofitted Seattle Brewing and Malting Co. building—a place I’ve always heard was once home to the Rainier Brewery. Whether or not that’s true (someone really should confirm), the space carries the weight and charm of local history with confidence. Exposed brick, iron beams, and vintage tile are preserved beautifully, offering a respectful nod to the building’s industrial past, while thoughtful modern updates bring in a clean, refined aesthetic that feels at once functional and welcoming.
Inside, the room is bright and airy, a truly pleasant space to linger in. The staff are knowledgeable and genuinely helpful—clearly proud of the chocolate they serve and happy to walk you through it. If you're curious, there’s a viewing room at the back where you can watch the chocolate-making process in action. It adds a touch of Wonka-like delight to the experience and is a great reminder that this is a working factory, not just a retail front.
This isn’t a destination spot on its own—but if you're already in Georgetown, Fran’s is absolutely worth the stop. It’s a quiet pocket of indulgence amid the energy of Georgetown, and a solid reminder of how well Seattle blends history, craft, and good taste.
Oh, I almost forgot, the chocolate is exceptional.
Beautiful retail store. Delicious carmels, chocolates, and truffles. Boxed selections or pick individual tastings.
It’s Willy Wonka‘s secret chocolate factory!!!
Love this place best chocolate ever !!
We did the tour and learned a lot especially the history of Frans famous salted caramel. We got to see the magic happen. We were also given a class on chocolate tasting from our knowledgeable host.
Beautiful store in a historic building, love the store. Chocolate is pricy but tastes good. Beautiful package.
Parking: Georgetown can be busy, so parking is really pending on when do you go

The original interior of the building compliments well with the minimal furniture design of the store, leaving space in the mind to enjoy the chocolate flavor to it's maximum without the visual noise of most candy stores.

Shout out to Ms. Latosha! I was out with my photography group for a photowalk and she invited us in, offering more photo opportunities inside as well as chocolate samples. She showed a few of us around, was very knowledgeable and friendly - excellent customer service! We got some fantastic chocolate recommendations and brought a few tasty pieces home. Thank you!

The best location to get chocolate. The woman at desk was so warm and friendly. I asked for a tiny 3 piece box for my daughter. She packed the little box for my daughter Elli and gave her a bag too. It made my daughter feel so incredibly special. I’m sad I didn’t get her name so I could sing her praises.
